A lot of work has gone into this book and it could have been a really useful guide to assessing the merits of different patterns for trading purposes. With over 60 charting patterns included in the book, it is always handy to check on a forming pattern and check on the historical data to help predict the chance of an upward or downward breakout. I was a bit cynical about the author initially, but when you read his book and his web site you don't meet the "savvy trader" you expect, you meet an altogether much more interesting and amusing character. Personally I have always found it difficult to see chart patterns, so this defines them in a useful way. Really the only gripe that I could even potentially see is that it would be a lot nicer to have the pertinent Size Statistics information like the very important Average Formation Length stats directly out front on the first page with the title of each pattern. To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average.
