About this deal

I was super excited to be invited to design a tea cosy that celebrated the Queen's 70th Jubilee. There's nothing better than a big tea party, and bygone street parties were my inspiration for this design. And the supreme knitter had a bit of handy advice for would-be crafters. Margaret says: “When sewing the white ermine fur to the base of the cosy, keep the stitching nice and loose so that it fits easily over a spout and handle.” Oliver the cat tea cosy. Oliver Cat cosy is knitted from 2 strands of 8ply yarn, knitted together. I’ve used some mohair knitted together with a slightly fluffy 8 ply.

She says, “I’ll be sitting at our beach hut knitting the flower pots, huts and red, white and blue dogs that we sell to raise money for the hospital – and hopefully the sun will shine on us all.” Needles at the ready! How to make your own Coronation Cosy like MargaretHold one needle in your left hand and one needle in your right hand. The right hand is the hand doing most of the work. Perhaps you’d like to have your friends over for holiday tea…or you need a nice gift for a tea lover. If so, this colorfully striped pot cozy is the perfect project to knit next! Pattern is written so that you can customize this cozy to the size of the pot. Easy pattern to knit. Add a touch of whimsy to your tablescape with this fantastic novelty teapot cozy in the shape of a scrumptious fairy cake. The two halves of the tea cozy are worked separately and then partially seamed to form the tea cozy shape. A yummy looking layer of frosting is knit afterwards and then sewn on top.

This teapot cozy design is making my mouth water! The soft pink and white color palette combined with the diagonal ribbing is a dead ringer for delicious soft serve ice cream. A smattering of fluffy yarn pom poms finish off the design in the best way possible. Teapot cozy knitting patterns are what cottagecore dreams are made of, and this sensational strawberry design is certainly no exception. You’re sure to receive many compliments on this berry nice design! The best part is that it’s very beginner-friendly and uses only basic stitches. Your next project uses stranded colorwork in an unusual way – by intentionally pulling the alternate shade too tight, you create pleats! Knit this fun cozy to look like a hat, in any color you wish using Patons Classic Wool Worsted. Top-off with a fun pom-pom for the perfect finished look. Pass the tip of the right hand needle through the loop, wind yarn round the right hand needle to make a second loop. Place this new loop on the left hand needle to the right of the original loop. You now have two stitches on the left-hand needle. A beautiful, cheerful and springtime cosy – The Flower Garden Tea Cosy. Tea cosy measures 32cm circumference, 16cm high, to fit a1 cup Teapot. On the day of the Coronation, Margaret and her family will be at their own brightly-coloured stripey beach hut by Wellington Pier at Great Yarmouth. With the wrong side facing knit 3 A, knit 5 B, to the end of the row keeping the colours correct to last 3 stitches when you will knit 3 A. Make your next piping cup of tea the best one yet with the addition of a knitted tea cosy. Just seeing your new creation on the kitchen tableis sure to give you an instant burst of happy serotonin! Having previously been awarded a British Empire medal (BEM), Margaret had already met the late Queen and Princess Anne, but now she has received a very special Royal invitation. This teapot cozy is an ode to British royalty with it’s colorful bunting decoration and the fancy little knit teacup sitting on top. It’s a little bit silly and whole lot adorable, plus it only uses basic knitting stitches. I think it’s safe to say that you are going to need this design in your life for your next Great British Bake Off themed tea party!

The tea cosy features a bunting lined street of Victorian town houses. And above the roof tops is the crown in it's full glory. A fair isle teacosy using 5 Miniballs, knit in the round and then steeked. A great way to practice the technique of cutting your knitting on a small project first! The kanji on the pattern means ‘tea’.Yarn: Patons North America Classic Wool Worsted ( Worsted Weight Yarn#4) Seed Stitch Pompom Tea Cozy I’ll see you next week for another free knitting pattern round-up. Make sure to follow the blog so you never miss a post. <3 This teapot cozy design is knit sideways rather than in the round or in two flat panels sandwiched together. I think that this was an excellent design choice and I love the way that it makes the cupcake wrapper easy to knit up in two colors. The best part is the swirly frosting on the top.

Experienced knitters, make tea time even more fun with this pretty, floral tea cozy. Lily Sugar’n Cream is 100% cotton, so it’s the perfect choice for this project in the shades you prefer, or using those in the interpretation shown. It’s a great gift when paired with one of our many dishcloths. This tea cosy is knit flat in two-colour brioche to begin and is then joined to work in the round above the spout and handle. Please read all notes carefully before starting. Previously Margaret spent two years knitting an 18ft woolly replica of Sandringham Palace for 15 hours a day to raise funds for Addenbrooke’s new Cambridge Children’s Hospital. Tea is one of life’s simplest pleasures, and it’s never better than when served the traditional way in a pot kept warm by a knitted cosy. Small fits average 2-cup tea pot; Large fits average 6-cup pot. Size 4.50 mm (U.S. 7) knitting needles. The bunting is knitted in red, white and blue for a touch of patriotism. To get the flags nice and flat, I pinned the bunting out with a pin at each flag tip and heated with a hairdryer and allowed to cool before removing the pins. That's the secret to non-curly flags. Tea cosy in basketweave stitch adorned with flowers to fit a medium sized pot approximately 9cm in bottom diameter and 15cm in height with matching flower adorned coasters. As someone who was aged 24 at the last Coronation, Margaret has wise words for our late Queen’s eldest son. She says, “Our future King has got a lot to live up to, and he’s been a bit quiet of late… but it’s a big change for him. I think he’s going to do very well.”
