About this deal
With over 100 ways of expression, the instax mini Evo hybrid instant camera brings what you love to life. It does, however, suffer from all the same issues that the LiPlay does, such as the subpar LCD screen (compared to modern electronics), underpowered image sensor (which suffers from banding and artefacting even in relatively simple scenes), and shots that are betrayed by their low resolution if you don't print them out (meaning your phone is a better instant option). We can vouch for the “fun factor” of the Instax Mini Evo but it’s not without a couple of drawbacks. From the cliffs of the peninsula we could see an island, upon which stands the Nubble Light, a homely light station that’s been lighting the seas around since 1879. Whether you opt for ‘instax-Natural Mode’ for conventional image quality or ‘instax-Rich Mode’ for vibrant colours.
The editor of Digital Camera World, James has 21 years experience as a journalist and started working in the photographic industry in 2014 (as an assistant to Damian McGillicuddy, who succeeded David Bailey as Principal Photographer for Olympus).Additional tactile highlights are offered by the unusually large number of operating elements for an instant camera. With the Mini Evo I’m free to shoot whatever I want, take a look at the results, and decide if they’re worth the money of a print.
If you want to share images on social media, the instax mini Evo app, turns your smartphone into your very own print gallery. The Instax Mini Evo is the instant camera experience reimagined, and it’s the most fun we’ve had with one of these throwback snappers so far.You can throw on a bunch of filters and effects within the app, but if you're anything like us you'll skip the gimmicks.
