About this deal

With ideas of childhood wonder and innocence, this has all the hallmarks of a classic Enid Blyton series. I found a copy of the Magic Faraway Tree in a hotel library and read it in a few hours, which transported me back to my childhood and the enticing world of Moonface and co. In 1948, the first part of Up The Faraway Tree was published in Sunny Stories Magazine in picture-strip form. Thank you for the great job you do making Activity Village such a great place for us to find fun learning activities! Over the years, the Faraway Tree stories have been illustrated by various artists including Dorothy M. Voices: Roy Hudd, Richard Pearce, Kate Harbour, John Baddeley, Jimmy Hibbert, Janet James and David Holt. Climbing the tree involves dodging the dirty washing-water which Dame Washalot pours down the trunk at regular intervals and avoiding peeping in at the Angry Pixie, who throws things at those who poke and pry.

They live in a cottage near some woods and when they explore the woods they find a whole bunch of exciting creatures and all of the animals can talk. Maybe at an adult stage, it won't be that enjoyable but read it to your kids or your little sister/brother or just any youngster and you'll be able to understand why they will fall in love with it. I never much liked Enid Blyton when I was a kid, but this one got read out to us aloud sometime in second grade so I had no choice. It's late at night, and there are whispering sounds from across the fields, where strange and giant trees tremble softly in the silvery moonlight. The children capture the gnome and during the chase end up at the Magic Faraway Tree, "the oldest and most magic tree in the world".The enchanted forest and the tree that bears different fruits on each branch on each different day, with a new land on the top of it every week and the heartwarming people living in each branch -Moonface, Saucepan Man, Mrs. Her mother is sick and thinks that her daughter would be well placed because she considers the Faraway Tree children to be Good and Well-Behaved and the right sort of children for her dainty and pretty but rather spoilt daughter.
