About this deal

The music video for "It's Raining Men", released in the winter of 1982, was directed by Gary Keys and filmed in an abandoned building in New York City. [30] Due to limited support from Columbia Records, "It's Raining Men" was a low-budget video. Wash described the video's conception: "God, that was a cheesy video! We filmed it in an abandoned building [in NYC] in the dead of winter. There was no heat and everybody was wearing [winter] coats. That part in the video where we fall out of the sky, well, we landed on these mattresses and found out [the next day] they were infested with bugs. For days afterwards Izora and I were scratching [ourselves]! It was awful!" [30] Synopsis [ edit ] Frequently recognised for her sunny “Bye Bye” sign-off, Emma is one of the longest serving weather presenters at ITV. She started as a colourful, quirky regular on national breakfast television, and has had her head in the clouds - and ITV Weather regions - since 1992, also presenting countryside programmes. Emma’s always had a keen interest in the weather, especially since she hails from the North West where there is rather a lot of it... She originally trained to be a vet, but side-stepped into TV. As she made the leap from vet to met, she found that working with exotic species gave her quite a good grounding for a career in television… she's taken part in some heart-stopping, daredevil features over the years. Emma has done every job behind the camera, and worked as a radio journalist before achieving her ambition of joining the ITV Weather team. Somewhat prophetically, her first ever radio report involved covering the hottest day of the year and frying an egg on the pavement – two of her favourite interests, weather and cooking! When she's not scratting around in the garden or the kitchen, this one-woman wildlife feeding station enjoys dinner and a musical, languages and observational comedy, reformer pilates - and when there’s time - sleeping. We Need Love (Remixes) by Terri B! & The Weather Girls on Apple Music. iTunes. Retrieved on March 30, 2019 Chris is a local boy to the Anglia region, raised in Norwich, Norfolk. He’s always been interested in weather, ever since building his first rain gauge with his dad when he was six. But it wasn’t until high school that his passion for physical geography developed. Chris graduated from the University of Reading in 2012, joined the Met Office in Exeter and qualified as a meteorologist.

Charlie first caught the weather bug in his early teens when he was watching thunderstorms from his bedroom window. Yes, a self-confessed weather geek from an early age sent him on his path to studying geography and meteorology at the University of Birmingham, before joining the Met Office in 2008.

Alex grew up in Bristol where he still lives today. As a child he spent a lot of time with his weather obsessed grandmother who sparked an interest in him from a young age. A few years on Alex developed an interest in the media and by chance an opportunity came up to combine his two interests at ITV West Country. Since 2005 Alex has been part of the weather team and his responsibilities also stretch across ITV Network Weather and Good Morning Britain. He’s also presented a number of weather documentaries on Channel 4. Alex also has a passion for current affairs and can be seen presenting ITV’s ‘Tonight’ programme. So she decides to hide in plain sight…..hiding herself where no one would think to look. Until she falls in love and realises that her entrapment could destroy everything. BookTrail Travel to The Weather Woman The Weather Woman is the tale of a young woman who I guess was born in the wrong time because in this day an age a talent as strong as that would be celebrated and utilised by everyone regardless of their gender. This is so a beautifully written story about the hardship of being an extraordinary woman in the men's era. In old times two things determined your place in this world: your gender and the wealth of the family in which you were born. The best place to be was a son of a wealthy family of power. Worst - being an intelligent woman in any family. Why? You´d have to read the book. To date, The Weather Girls have accumulated an overall total of four number-one dance singles. [11] Dynelle Rhodes holds the rights to the Weather Girls name and performs across Europe.

From a young age Amanda wanted to work in weather and at 18 auditioned to be a Weather Presenter on The Big Breakfast…but it was a few years before her break came. In June 2018 an opportunity arose to cross the bridge from being behind the camera to standing in front of it, and he’s loved being part of the West Country weather team ever since. Neva has a unique talent - she can predict the weather. However 19th century London is no place for a woman of her talents and inclinations.

She is also born with an extraordinary gift. She can predict the weather. In Regency England, where the proper goal for a gentlewoman is marriage and only God knows the weather, this is dangerous. It is also potentially very lucrative.

Paul Jabara and Paul Shaffer wrote the song over the course of one afternoon in 1979, intending it for Donna Summer, who had scored a hit with " Last Dance" (1978). [4] [5] [6] However, as Shaffer later recalled, Summer had recently become a born-again Christian and rejected the song as "blasphemous". [4] [6] [7] The song was then offered to Diana Ross, Cher, and Barbra Streisand, all of whom declined it. [7] Away from work his two young boys keep him busy, and with any free time left over he’s usually exploring the south west on foot and taking a few photographs. He can also serenade a (very) small audience on the piano or guitar, if you twist his arm.

On the morning the Tate show opened, a dull grey-green sky was clamped down over the city, over St Paul's, and the river was busy as usual. Under its many bridges tugs towed platforms with heaps of sand and other materials upstream. Here the Tate's situation comes into its own. For this show, the blinds have been opened on the gallery's north side to reveal the views of the Thames a stone's throw away, because the London river is another recurring theme in Horn's work. "I like the fact that you can't pastoralise the Thames," she has written. "It's this wild thing running through this huge urban area ... so much stuff gets into the water and vice versa." It’s January 1789, and amidst the bustle of a Frost Fair on the Thames —“ dancing bears, jugglers, puppet shows, exhibitions of wild beasts”— Neva and her Russian parents are presenting a chess-playing bear that’s so well constructed, people believe it’s real. While her father extracts money from dandies convinced they can beat the bear, Neva hears “ the ice groaning under the weight of the people…she feels it in her belly, an unearthly sound, angels calling out a warning”.The weather is so severe the River Thames completely freezes over. The people of London decide to hold an impromptu Frost Fair, with dancing bears, jugglers and puppet shows. Neva and her Russian parents operate a chess-playing bear, so convincing people believe it is real. Kirkwood rejoined the BBC at the corporation's Elstree Studios training department in 1993 as a freelance presenter, during which time she also presented a bi-monthly programme Talking Issues for HTV West.
