About this deal

Abhorred monster! Fiend that thou art! The tortures of hell are too mild a vengeance for thy crimes. Wretched devil! You reproach me with your creation, come on, then, that I may extinguish the spark which I so negligently bestowed." These two were not just best friends, they were each other's lifeline and they have a long road ahead of them to become that for once again... i mean there’s a ”dramtic, cliche, i want that to he me” part when he’s confessing to her “what he wants” and he asks her “what do you want” and theres a pause AND BAM theyre making out At age 16, Ivy runs away from a home where she feels no longer welcome, where her parents struggle with financial issues, where the cops are a constant presence after her parents fight and her mother verbally and emotionally abuses her.

Why do you call to my remembrance," I rejoined, "circumstances of which I shudder to reflect, that I have been the miserable origin and author? Cursed be the day, abhorred devil, in which you first saw light! Cursed (although I curse myself) be the hands that formed you! You have made me wretched beyond expression. You have left me no power to consider whether I am just to you or not. Begone! Relieve me from the sight of your detested form." I adored our heroine, she had scars, she was perfectly imperfect but perfect in every way, she had flaws but god she was so strong. Her past was shady, but that just made her real. Her struggles were raw but she owned them. As with all of B. Celeste's books, this book didn't disappoint. It was funnier and more entertaining than other books I read by this author, but still managed to delivered a great emotional punch.Your usual?” I greet him, careful to keep my tone even despite the way my skin tingles as he towers over the register. Admittedly this won't be for everyone, our heroine does suffer from self harm and it didn't fully go into the details as some might want it to, it was glossed over not making that the full focus of this book and I was ok with that. I understood what she went through, I didn't need to be pulled under that cloud. I appreciated the glimpse was saw of her evolving into her own. According to some of the locals who come in for coffee, the university has broken the records for most wins at home and away because of the team they’ve had the last two years.

As for the romance, I wish Ivy showed her love as freely as Aiden did, but I understood why she couldn't all the time. Towards the end of the book, I truly did appreciate her even though I never really fell in love with her. All in all this was still a great read from an incredibly talented author and I can't wait to see what she does next!!

Overview

Skylar is the youngest of 4 sisters, having moved to Linden U from California to discover herself away from her bubbly rich family. She suffers from social anxiety, she is shy and introverted and has a hard time making friends. I read this one in a couple of hours, late at night. I remember thinking that I want to finish it, so I don’t have to do it tomorrow. That probably tells you all you need to know?! To be fair a lot of the side characters in this were very likeable and I wanted to know more about them. Sky's family was so irritating, but I kind of grew to like them. This story was laced full of pain and heartbreak, but the author gave us hope and show us that there is a light after all in the end of the darkness!!! Her books are not very angsty but have the right amount of feels and pain too! She is an amazing author for the contemporary romance lovers out there and highly recommended from my side!

the beginning of this book had me so hyped for the smut. she had him in a choke hold and playing with his pp at 12% like…? so obviously, me being me, just expected good smut I grin to myself and pass the man his change, coffee, and bag of pastries before turning to her. “Whatever. And he’s just another customer, so chill.” They form an amazing friendship, which I absolutely adored. He helped Sky with building her confidence and standing up for herself. I loved how their relationship progressed.

I get what the book is trying to do. And this is one of those situations where it's not the book, it's me. Because I, for the life of me, could only wonder why.

DJ's story is here! You met him in Dare You to Hate Me and now Lindon's wide receiver gets his own time to shine in this friends with benefits slash friends to lovers standalone new adult romance. And that’s where it turns the way all of B. Celeste’s books turn out to be. Slow burn, friends to lovers, cheesy as h3ll. This would have been a perfect book if you’re in the mood for that. The problem I had with this book was Ivy. Yes, I get why she threw The book starts with Skylar succumbing to peer pressure and going to a party, drinking too much and waking up the next day in someone's bed and not remembering anything but it's obvious she lost her virginity. The party was at the fooball team's house so DJ and Aiden (from the first book) witness her walk of shame. I’ve seen some of the players use the attention to their advantage, making me scoff every single time they convince some poor victim to help them with homework or papers or buy them something here at Bea’s. this book was pretty good. the first half had me hooked for sure but then the second half was… kind of a turn off?? it was just repetitive and boring tbh and bad. its like 2-3 star but im feeling generous so it can have a 3

Now into the hero. I loved how sweet, caring, and considerate Aiden was. I'm really surprised of his devotion with Ivy. He waited for her, literally and figuratively. He wasn't your typical controlling, annoying, arrogant, self-proclaimed manwhore, football player. He was something else. Something worthy of my respect and adoration. Be calm! I entreat you to hear me before you give vent to your hatred on my devoted head. Have I not suffered enough, that you seek to increase my misery? Life, although it may only be an accumulation of anguish, is dear to me, and I will defend it. Remember, thou hast made me more powerful than thyself; my height is superior to thine, my joints more supple. But I will not be tempted to set myself in opposition to thee. I am thy creature, and I will be even mild and docile to my natural lord and king if thou wilt also perform thy part, the which thou owest me. Oh, Frankenstein, be not equitable to every other and trample upon me alone, to whom thy justice, and even thy clemency and affection, is most due. Remember that I am thy creature; I ought to be thy Adam, but I am rather the fallen angel, whom thou drivest from joy for no misdeed. Everywhere I see bliss, from which I alone am irrevocably excluded. I was benevolent and good; misery made me a fiend. Make me happy, and I shall again be virtuous." He’s coming over,” she squeaks, cheeks turning red like they always do in his presence. It’s why, as much as I want to pass him off to her to avoid any conversation, I have to handle it so she doesn’t make a fool of herself.
