In the end I got rid of the 1042, mainly because the 95ML was more neutral, tracked better, and traced tough inner grooves better. This can give the illusion of a tame treble, the OM-10 also had treble range up to 23K and possibly poor resonance frequency for my then budget Kenwood turntable (from the mid 80's with a low mass arm) and I think it was not as good a match, add in a BPC grade receiver and some early Sansui speakers that could not produce much bass beyond 40Hz or so and was not very well detailed caused severe listening fatigue for records and for a few years barely played albums because of that. Could I simply achieve increasing the capacitance by adding an RCA extension cable to the ends of my TT phono leads?

When I A/B the recordings made with the MP110 and 2m Red, I can hear a fairly obvious difference in the high end. But its simple bonded elliptical stylus doesn’t give as much fine detail or the same guarantees of no inner groove distortion (igd) as the VM95ml. This finesses of the MP-110, and the ability to reduce vinyl noise while tracking the inner groove makes it a budget winner. Tracking and bass impact are exceptional and the music has an effortless ebb and flow no matter if you are listening to classic rock or pure classical, with everything in-between.There are several actions that could trigger this block including submitting a certain word or phrase, a SQL command or malformed data. The Schiit Mani and ART DJ pre II are temping, however they only have capacitance and gain adjustments. The quality and shape of the stylus and the tolerances in the manufacturing process are of the utmost importance to ensure that the translation of the information in the grooves is perfect and no information is lost or added in the process.

The MP110 has the really nicely balanced tone that makes the whole Nagaoka range up to the MP500 prized by many. The sound is very sweet, there's no audible distortion and one can listen for hours and hours without fatigue. The MP-110 reveals a sweet midrange, although we'd like some more bass weight to support its light and breezy character. There is so much information resting in those vinyl grooves and we want to help you retrieve as much of it as possible. And the notion that this can't be true as a result of the AT having a microline stylus is fundamental misunderstanding of the complexities involved in sonic reproduction from groove walls. VTA, it usually is best to start with a level arm and you should have a VTA adjustment by just turning the dial/ring at the base of the arm to raise it as some tables need to be raised to perform better, others, a little down at the back (also known as tails up/down).

I have both, and agree the 95ML is better, however, I also have the MP200 and in that case I prefer the 200s sound signature, but since it still uses a poor stylus I still rock the 95ML at the very least until I can retip a Micro stylus onto my MP200. By faithfully representing the depth and breadth of the original recording, it ensures a sound quality that is warm, rich, and impressively lifelike. If the item comes direct from a manufacturer, it may be delivered in non-retail packaging, such as a plain or unprinted box or plastic bag. OP didn't give a lot of background info, and I gave my "from the hip" opinion like everyone else to start with. It sounds so good since I got it properly set up and broken in that I'm reluctant to swap it out but the shure m25c that's currently on the technics is not gonna cut it for me, even though at this point the technics is my backup.

The Ortofon, or its cheaper “red” variant is often factory fitted to mid range turntables, or recommended as a first upgrade. The MP-110 is a great upgrade option for a number of turntables with great results with the Rega Planar 1, Planar 2 and the Project debut carbon range. Their discontinued MP 11 had a rather large following around it when it was out years ago and this MP 110 is its direct replacement. It's this universality that makes the MP110 a popular choice among vinyl enthusiasts of every stripe. But for general use at home, the reference time is between 150-200 hours in which the stylus begin to wear and the tone quality deteriorates.

To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. The muffsy will be the most expensive option but I am hoping after burning myself and lots of cussing, it will be the most rewarding. If your records are in rough shape or you don't have a real cleaning system for used records, I would stay away. I listen to a lot of different records and I am extremely sensitive to inner groove distortion and sibilance. Different needle profiles have different wear characteristics on your records, with a corresponding difference in expected service life, as published by the manufacturers. The second one is a bit more flexible as it has 3 capacitance's to choose from where as the first one only has 2. In comparison, my memory of the Ortofon 2M Red (on a different table, mind you) was of a rougher sound.
