About this deal

Although Emerahl helps Leiard understand his strange memories, what they discover will forever change his life, and the world. Despite being the biggest advocate for peace, being the protector of the Siyee, Auraya still finds herself in the middle of a simmering conflict. Further cultural differences between the nations are revealed, and some additional light is shone on the complex political relationships between the countries. Aren might never forgive her for her betrayal, but Lara still loves him and is determined to free him from where he is being held captive in her father’s palace.

The book is allowed time to explore the intricacies of their relationship and examine how or if Aren might forgive Lara. Crete at the height of its brilliant civilization is the stage for an unparalleled story of mystery, deceit, and romance. We celebrate Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander stories, traditions and living cultures; and we pay our respects to Elders past and present. While living among the Sachakan rebels, Lorkin does his best to learn about their very nature and rare magic. That alone should tell you how good of a book this is, as I am not one to easily lose track of time.It was a thrilling adventure from page one to the end, and while I am bummed that Aren and Lara's story is done, I am excited for where the rest of the series is headed. Willful Thalamika, irresistibly drawn to the Mycenean Prince, disdains the earnest advice of her friends, as Andrios tries desperately to uncover the truth behind flying rumors of disaster. Sonea, the ex street urchin turned Black Magician, is shocked when she finds out that her son, Lorkin, has volunteered to help Dannyl in his new role as Guild Ambassador to Sachaka—a land where the barbaric black magicians reign supreme.

Dark Shores has everything I look for in a fantasy novel: fresh, unique settings, a cast of complex and diverse characters, and an unflinching boldness with the nuanced world-building. The palace of Minos at Knossos seethes with an undercurrent of intrigue and hatred as the foreign Queen entertains her armed countrymen from Mycenae. But while treating a patient one day at the house of local magician Lord Dakon, Tessia uses magic to protect herself from the advances of a visiting Sachakan mage, something that changes her life completely. While the Sachakan king pressurizes Lorkin into backstabbing the Traitors, Dannyl finds himself questioning his friendship with Ashaki Achati. All that however changes when someone starts spreading spiteful rumors about her, forcing the High Lord Akkarin to intervene.
