About this deal

Anyone and everyone should give it a read or listen perhaps for it's one of the best books out there. He doesn’t delve into where his BPD came from, although it’s fairly obvious his Mum and Dad weren’t Mr and Mrs Perfect Pants Parents. I wish he’d covered why BPD is now considered a pejorative term (outdated and often catch all for people who have had trauma, they often don’t get well or the help they need because they’re judged as narcissistic, unstable/unable to get better, it’s not a coincidence that most people with BPD are AFAB); I don’t love that he talks about going off all medication…meds saved my life and through most of my 30s I didn’t want to be on them…I fear his story will encourage people to do the same. Tracini tells me about the condition’s nine traits, as outlined by the American Psychiatric Association. it's rare to hear bpd spoken about in such human terms - not medicalised, stigmatised, romanticised, or misrepresented.

The way Joe articulates himself On such a difficult subject with his humour and raw emotion is exceptional. In 2003, he was the British junior magical champion and was named the most promising comedy act by Ken Dodd. He's starred in many TV shows including Hollyoaks, Coming of Age and The Great Outdoors, and he's the host of the BAFTA winning 'The Dengineers'.As these charges are the responsibility of the recipient, please check the customs service in your destination country to see if charges are applicable. Sometimes there is no split screen, just Tracini explaining that talking about killing himself in front of so many people is a form of insurance – the more people he tells he won’t do it, the less likely he is to do so. Incredibly, he emerges from the darkness with a timeless tale of love, hope and redemption that will be of immeasurable help to people facing the most destructive demons and, crucially, everyone who loves them. Joe Tracini travels to the horrible heart of his abominable illness and unflinchingly examines the misery it has heaped upon him and everyone around him.

Hearst UK is the trading name of the National Magazine Company Ltd, 30 Panton Street, Leicester Square, London, SW1Y 4AJ. But he does make it obvious they were more likely to take a pair of shears to pernicious weeds in the garden rather than dig them up by the roots.

His top 3 favorite things are food, sleep and avoiding social interactions, and he has a deep hatred of writing about himself in the third person.

I have BPD, and this was less of a 'self-help' book and more of a commiserations book, and that's why I adored it. The book is a difficult read and Joe talks through his life from one sh*tty moment to the next but he's made me feel less alone in my struggles and by far he's given the most practical and actionable advice on preventing su!But if his book makes you think: "thank fuck it’s not just me" and that makes you feel a little better, then it’s a job well done. He is supremely polite, slightly geeky and wears T-shirts that show off his elaborately tattooed arms (and disguise his self-harm scars). I felt such relief knowing that what I had was a thing, because my immediate thought process on it was: if it’s a thing, you can fix a thing. He also helped put an explanation to some of the things I was feeling I knew I was feeling that was but it helped me articulate it through his own experiences. This book not only GETS me with out feeling like I need to roll my eyes, this book is changing lives.

Not only is this book moving but I feel it will be educational not only for those without the illness, but for those with it to know that it’s okay to feel these things. I love coming back to Norwich each year, so I am gonna be doing my first sharing of bits of it in Stage Two if you’d like to come along and see it. I saw his 48 second gymnastics commentary on Twitter and immediately started following him, not knowing anything more about him.My adult career has been trying to undo everything that I taught myself growing up about how to be like my dad. Alongside wacky dance tutorials delivered in outlandish skimpies, the videos focus on Tracini’s main challenge in life – how not to kill himself.
