About this deal

With this version, you can enjoy streaming services like Tidal and Spotify Connect. In addition, the stream music feature has been added via Apple Airplay2 and Google’s Chromecast. Speaking of sound, it will not leave anyone indifferent: the incredible combination of rough bass when playing heavy songs and the subtle, pleasant sound of playing instrumental compositions enchants the listener.

If you want to do this, you might consider an analog power amplifier along with the WXC-50. This is also a great option if you want to add music listening to your home theater system. In most cases, you won’t need both. The perks of the WXA-50 over its competitors are all contained as features in the WXC-50. If You Have Active Speakers Like all its predecessors, the POWERNODE boasts of its versatility, allowing users to connect via Bluetooth and Wi-Fi without any problems. In addition, the device can be controlled via Apple AirPlay 2 and Alexa Voice Control. Regarding Bluetooth, it is important to note the presence of aptX HD for streaming and facilitating the use of POWERNODE with a pair of wireless headphones. While this looks ugly, the spikes near audio band are way down at -75 dB which is very good. I have tested amps where these levels are much, much higher. x 2” x 9-5/8” (with antenna: 8-3/8” x 4-7/8” x 9-5/8”), 8-3/8” x 1-5/8” x 9-5/8” (without antenna and feet) It is also worth adding that it is Roon-ready and capable of working as part of a Naim multi-room set-up along with the company’s other streamers and wireless speakers.Be the first to know when the WXA-50 Dark Silver is available to ship. Plus, stay up to date on new products, special offers, promotions and events! Play the same song in multiple rooms, or play different songs in each room. With MusicCast, freely enjoy the music you love anywhere in your home. A slightly more robust remote control would have been preferable, but overall the WXA-50 is a great stereo amp for streamed audio and external sources alike. Verdict Looking for additional benefits, this streamer has dual-band Wi-Fi. It also supports Apple AirPlay2 and other streaming services. In addition, the two-way Bluetooth with support for aptX is also a nice advantage in the market, as you can use wireless headphones through the BluOS app.

One of the main advantages of the WXA-50 over other power amplifiers is its digital capabilities. In addition to standard auxiliary inputs, the WXA-50 features digital optical input, USB, ethernet, and wireless connections. Like any power amplifier, the WXA-50 is not equipped to handle sound conditioning that might be necessary, especially for digital devices. While some external devices sound fine without any conditioning, most would benefit from EQ and gain controls. This is where the WXC-50 comes in. The Yamaha WXC-50

The Yamaha WXC-50 is a preamplifier, designed to condition your sound before it hits the power amplification stage. Preamps can be used in one of two ways. They can be connected to a set of active speakers or connected to a power amplifier. You can also link two or more MusicCast devices into a group, or multiple devices into multiple groups, and send music to groups rather than individual devices. I found that you can easily switch control devices. I flipped promiscuously from Samsung Galaxy Tab A to iPad Mini 4 to iPhone 8 to Google Pixel 2 XL as controller, and all linkages and streams were shown on them as though they were on the same device (although the tablets provided a more spacious layout). No wires, easy installation. By using MusicCast, you don't need to fuss with placing wires through walls into other rooms. Nevertheless, once connected and installed, the app worked flawlessly. It showed the song title, sleeve art (not for WAV rips though), CD-type music controls plus EQ controls. My only gripe is that I would have like to have seen a report on the quality of the file type being played. For example, when playing the jazz piece, St. Thomas from Sonny Rollins, this is a 24bit/96kHz file but this information was never revealed by the app. I wish I could have seen that information on the app screen. I don’t mind the lifestyle facade that Yamaha is trying to promote here. I can even live with the irritatingly Apple-like paternalistic ‘we’ve-decided-that-you-don’t-need-the-information-so-we-won’t-give-it-to-you’, non-techie approach to the app but it would have been nice to have found the said figures buried somewhere, for those who really want it. SOUND QUALITY If you’re looking for a quality all-in-one option, this is for you. If you’re looking to make a very expensive home audio system, this is a good place to start. If you’re looking for a good addition to a robust home audio system, you might want to keep looking. There are two main things you need to know about a music streamer. First of all, consider the largest bit depth and sampling rate that it can accept. The sampling rate is the number of times the computer took a digital snapshot of a specific second of a music file. Thus, the more pictures it takes, the more detailed the sound will be. You can find this value in hertz (Hz), sometimes with the abbreviation of kilohertz (kHz).

Yamaha WXA-50 Video Review

The difference between a preamplifier and a power amplifier is where the power to drive the audio signal comes from. A preamplifier relies on an external power source to amplify the audio signal enough to drive a speaker. A power amplifier produces a signal capable of driving a speaker directly. The Main Differences Turn your entire home into a concert hall. Combine the world’s most advanced piano, the Disklavier ENSPIRE, with MusicCast to enjoy the sound and music of a real acoustic piano in any room of your home.
