Balderdash is a board game variant of a classic parlor game known as Fictionary or "The Dictionary Game".Believe it or not, Ryman managed to present this nightmarish fantasy in a respectful and almost reverential way.

For the very first turn of the game the Dasher takes the first question card from the card box and chooses one of the five categories on the dark green question side. After everyone has moved their playing piece and spun the spinner if necessary the player to the Dasher's left becomes the new Dasher.I usually think I am the only one who has read it (but I hope not) but it DID deal with a real life Dorothy Gale. Miss Parego created him and he eventually became a little puppet with three hands directing him through and another who supplied the voice. Although the game can be played with two people, its easy to tell what the real answer is at the very end of each players turn. Each player who submitted a close answer scores 2 points and moves their playing piece forward immediately.

From a high level, this game presents rare and unusual words, the players secretly submit definitions for the words, hoping that other players will believe their definition is the real one. Of course, slanting your answer so that it shows your own personal opinion will lead people to know which is your answer. a player scores two points if their Bluff closely resembles the correct answer (this doesn't apply to the Dasher of course).A poor small town family strike it quite rich when they grow some very popular tomatoes that everyone loves. He had all the "hot" acts show up, from the Beatles to The Mamas And The Papas (and countless others). When parents follow their son to Europe to check up on his girlfriend, the mother starts flirting with a Frenchman. Absolute Balderdash gives you back what you put in times ten, the more you put into the game the more you will get out of it.

Of these games, my favourite, bar none, is Absolute Balderdash, I like it so much I’ve owned it three times and I still have two copies of the game.You score moves on the board for each player who is conned into believing that your made-up answer is the real one, as well as for choosing the real and often unbelievable answer. I am lucky to be a highly intelligent person, blessed with a group of equally intelligent friends, all of whom are capable and quick witted. Players are awarded one point for each other player who incorrectly chooses the fake definition they wrote. Remove the game board from it's plastic package, the package containing the plastic moving pieces and miscellaneous pieces and a die, as well as the game cards currently being held inside the other box inside the game package.
