Right from the moment it was written, “The Wave” felt like it would be a perfect way to close the record. It’s all about becoming at peace with the unpredictable nature of our existence as humans. For so long I fought to control my feelings—I tried and failed to turn my sadness into happiness, or to make my happiness last for as long as possible.
