About this deal

Details about the extent of our regulation by the Financial Conduct Authority are available from us on request. Corsair is launching a new line of cases hot off the heels of the 4000 series. The 5000 series of cases share many of the nice features found on the 4000, while providing more space for additional cooling capabilities. The top of the case is similar to the front panel, along with the front I/O: a big square power button with LED, two yellow USB 3.0 Type-A ports, a USB 3.1 Type-C port, and a Microphone/Audio combo 3.5mm port, and a smaller restart button. The top panel removes the same as the front, with a magnetic filter underneath featuring a matching triangular pattern. Pulling the yellow tab removes the magnetic filter for servicing needs. The top can also take two 140mm fans instead of three 120mm fans. Front: 120 mm fan x 1 / 2 x 140 mm fan or 3 x 120 mm fan supported ¦ Top: fan mount / 2 x 140 mm fan or 3 x 120 mm fan supported ¦ Rear: 120 mm fan x 1 ¦ Side: 120 mm fan mount x 3 Motherboard Tray with Customizable Fan Mounts: Side-mount up to 3x 120mm fans or up to a 360mm radiator, enabling new flexible cooling options.

Clean and Cool: The 5000D makes a stunning, showpiece-worthy PC easy to build, and even easier to keep cool with the space and flexibility to mount multiple 360mm radiators.

Our specific 5000D unit has three perforated sides – top, front, and motherboard-tray-side. They are already looking very promising for excellent airflow, read on for more. Front top mounted I/O shows off modern ports including USB 3.1 Type-C, USB 3.0 ports and a mic / audio combo.

It would be cool to see a steel vented side panel version that would match the design of the bezel. It would look cleaner (better) and actually be functional. Reply Motherboard Tray with Customizable Fan Mounts: Side-mount up to 3x 120mm fans or up to a 360mm radiator, enabling new flexible cooling options.Next I decided to install the vertical GPU mount, which requires two standoffs that come with the case — not the cable itself! You install the standoffs into the case and then mount the extension cable with two screws, while flexing the cable in an S-shape into the PCIe slot. Then you just install the graphics card and you're done. In my opinion the vertical mount looks very nice, filling the space better than the horizontal orientation. This gives a nice glimpse of the otherwise unseen face of your often very expensive graphics card too. Vertical installations really do look sharp!

High-Airflow Front Panel: An optimized steel front panel delivers massive airflow to your system for maximum cooling. Behind the front panel, we find a nice easily removable fine sheer mesh filter which should work great for catching dust. The top filter is slightly more coarse but still very fine, and is held down with a full strip of edge magnets. The side panels are held firm with thumb screws and a surprising amount of friction (no sudden *drops* of your sweet tinted glass panel after loosening the screws thankfully). The thumbscrews all seem to be nicely retained in place, for your “do-not-lose-this” pleasure. Two Included 120mm Fans: CORSAIR AirGuide fans utilize anti-vortex vanes to concentrate airflow and enhance cooling. As previously mentioned, there is a perfectly serviceable PWM fan hub is also included. The RGB version of the cases as a lighting controller at the same time. It is a similar story with that blanking plate over the side ventilation which involves a handful of screws and a few minutes work. You'll have to take it from us that what you saw in the video was not our first effort at working with the 5000D but more like the third or fourth and the user guide – we forgot to include this in the video – is absolutely tiny. The guide isn't bad but it seems ironic that a large case comes with a tiny multi-lingual book.Steel, plastic and tinted glass come together very cleanly & precisely to display top notch fit and finish – in that signature Corsair design language way. It is trivial to see the similarities with the previous mid-tower 4000 series. Most are done for cases with a completely opened PCIE area (no steel ribs between slots). The 5000D isn't. So if you want to use one of those you'll have to take the dremel out. The 5000 series is more of a size increase than a replacement of the 4000 lineup. For comparison, the 4000D AIRFLOW could house up to 6x120mm fans while the 5000D AIRFLOW can fit up to 10x120mm fans. The top three fans can even fit a push-pull configuration with a radiator to maximize the cooling possible. This also allows users to enjoy RGB fan lighting inside and out. Users can fit up to two triple radiators in either the front, top, or side of the case for extreme cooling needs. Cable management holes, supports 120 mm radiator in rear, supports 280/360 mm radiator in front panel, supports 280/360 mm radiator in top panel, supports 360 mm radiator in right side, vertical graphic card orientation, tempered glass left panel The whole tempered glass side panel + glass front bezel or glass side panel + open air bezel is becoming a pretty tired look. It was novel in 2016 and looks better than acrylic but its not really good ID. Aside from cases like Lian Li 011 where the material is part of the design language with cases like this the tempered glass isn’t part of the design its just a window to show off how cool your shit is. The stand-out point from our testing is that ramping up fan speed makes very little difference to temperatures, and we could even disable three of the nine fans without causing problems. Our initial impression was that the 5000D AirFlow would live up to its name and flow air, and our testing proved that beyond any doubt. Closing ThoughtsHi, looking to upgrade from the corsair 570x case and looking to vertically mount GPU on Corsair 5000D AIRFLOW but the corsair gpu mount puts the GPU to close to the glass and effects the temps a lot just wondering if anyone used any 3rd party vertical mounts that give better distance from the side glass and temperature differences ? it's hard to say how much hotter it will be. depends on your ambient temp and what card you have. 3080/3090 will probably be fine GPU wise, they don't run that hot surprisingly enough, bu the GDDR6X needs every bit of cooling it can have. Would probably crash quite a lot.. Reference Radeons are already cooking with the default cooler.. AIBs may suffer but be on the edge of throttling.. any way you spin it it's pretty bad really. CORSAIR RapidRoute Cable Management System: Makes it simple and fast to route your major cables through a single hidden channel, with an easy-access hinged door and a roomy 25mm of space behind the motherboard for all of your cables. if there's glass too close to the GPU fans, you can blow all you want against the glass, it won't do much good (except cool a bit the fins from the outside) but the GPU fans are just depleted of airflow.
