Pain can produce great rewards in your life. While I am sure that some of you are a bit bewildered by this statement, I want you to understand that pain is a powerful tool. In fact, pain has been a powerful gift in my life. Pain has helped me identify when a season was over, a relationship was ending, and even alerted me when it was time to upgrade my life to the next level. Your perspective on pain wants to keep you in a prison. Conversely, the right perspective on pain will empower you to progress and reach your greatest potential. I've learned to see pain as simply resistance training in my life. You have to understand that muscles cannot be built without resistance. Resistance is painful but necessary to build muscles and produce results. Resistance is the tool that ushers you into the next realm in your life. The reward of pain is not only progress but power. In other words, what you are avoiding is the very thing that will serve as the catalyst for the advancement of your life. Pain is simply developing the disciplines in you that will empower you to thrive at the next dimension. Without resistance, you will always live a restricted life. Allsop, Jon (January 4, 2019). Unbreakable: The Unbelievable True Story of Jamelle Sanders

Well, for many of us here in the United States we just celebrated Thanksgiving. If you are anything like me, you are still recovering from the incredible feast of yesterday. It is truly one of my favorite times of the year. While many people are excited about the turkey, dressing, and all the trimmings, Thanksgiving is about much more than that for me. It is an opportunity to reflect, assess my life, and offer gratitude for my many blessings. I am not saying that you should not look forward to a big dinner and seeing all your loved ones. However, I am saying that we must embrace gratitude as a way of life and a state of being. I hope this piece will resonate with you and remind you of the power of gratitude. Jamelle Sanders is a Kingdom influencer, author, leading empowerment specialist and the CEO of Jamelle Sanders International based in Gastonia, NC. Jamelle is committed to empowering entrepreneurs and leaders around the world to profit wildly in their businesses and live up to their true potential. He’s often called the soul coach because he helps you master your inner life, discover your authentic self and empowers you to position your life for total prosperity. No desire will ever be manifested in your life without courage. As I stated earlier, this year has already stretched me in ways that I have never been stretched before. Honestly, I tried to push a lot of things out of my mind and postpone them to some date in the future. Unfortunately, denial did not make the desire go away and I could no longer ignore it. I knew that I had to take action and I knew that it was not going to be easy. On the other hand, I knew that if I would act on the desire then I would inevitably see breakthroughs in my life. At this point, I had to make the decision to choose courage. We often talk about courage but I am not sure that many people know what courage is. Courage is not the absence of fear. Courage is the audacity to unleash faith in the midst of uncertainty and fear. As I was forced out of my comfort zone, I am finding myself living in the great unknown. I am a thinker and strategist that likes to have every detail figured out. While this serves me greatly in business, I am learning more and more than it does not serve me well in moments of transition and transformation. I can either allow the great unknown to cripple me. Or I can allow the great unknown to unleash the force of courage in my life. I have chosen courage and it has opened my eyes to new frontiers and new horizons in my life. Courage is the currency of change. Never limit thanksgiving to a day. While we carve out the last Thursday in November as Thanksgiving in the United States, I do not want you to think that Thanksgiving is simply limited to a day on a calendar. I discovered decades ago that Thanksgiving is a state of consciousness and a daily choice that must make in our lives. Honestly, if you are not intentional, we live in a world that will program you to be cynical and pessimistic. Cultivating gratitude is something that you have to intentionally do every single day of your life. When you have the opportunity to complain, I want you to make the choice to be grateful and to consider all the great blessings in your life. Thanksgiving is not about a day. Thanksgiving is about cultivating an attitude of gratitude. Jamelle Bouie". The Daily Beast. Archived from the original on May 4, 2017 . Retrieved January 19, 2016.Bouie, Jamelle (October 9, 2021). Unfortunately, for a long time, I allowed people to walk all over me as a human doormat. Then I realized that I deserved more. When you understand that you deserve more then you will start demanding more. So I changed the requirements of my relationships. It radically revolutionized my life. One of the greatest lessons I ever learned is that you must love yourself unconditionally, I look around the world today and I see so many people that are not whole in their souls. The constant need for attention and affirmation is becoming a global problem. You have to stop trying to get people to see you and value you. Understand that you are precious and priceless. When you understand this principle you will stop discounting yourself. Detach yourself from everything that does not deserve to be in your life. When you learn to love yourself you become more powerful than you could ever imagine.Live a life that keeps giving. One of the proudest moments for me on my birthday was to read the overwhelming remarks that were made about me. I am not so much looking for kind words. I’m looking for honest and heartfelt words because that is what helps me grow as a person. As I received calls, texts, social media messages and cards, I was overcome with emotion. People told stories of how my life and work have impacted them in a big way. It was humbling to me and a reminder that my life is not my own. I always want to live a life that keeps giving. I understand that my life is a seed. My decision to mature determines the multiplicity of that seed in the world. Ultimately, I hope that more than my words, accolades or talents, I hope that I will be remembered for leaving a mark on the world that will never be erased. When you live a life that keeps giving you know you are living your greatest life. Make a decision that this year will be different. The greatest day of my life was the day that I decided to live a greater life. No difficulty or disappointment is more powerful than a decision. When you decide to live a greater life your desires become tangible. Choice moves challenges out of the way. Choice empowers you to change your life. You must decide what you want your life to look like this year. Stop allowing others to paint the canvas of your life. Never forget that you have been given the power to choose. Your life can be as grand or as grievous as you decide. Decisions open the door to new possibilities in your life. Decide to live this year with meaning and focus.

Everything that I have shared with you is great. However, if you miss this piece, then everything else I shared with you is irrelevant. The difference in years, seasons, and cycles are the actions that you are willing to take. I cannot tell you how many people I have talked to over the years that talked incessantly about changing their lives but never took action. On this journey, I have discovered that inaction is one of the greatest imprisoners of your potential. If you are truly ready to live your greatest life in 2022, then you must become a person of action. It is action that closes the gap between desire and manifesting the life of your dreams. Action is how you build the bridge between hope and manifestation in your life. Everything that you desire is on the other side of action. While you may not have all the pieces, if you will dare to take action you can partner with greatness and realize your greatest potential. Do not let inaction give birth to regret and bitterness in your life. Dare to move in the direction of your goals and align with your vision. You will regret the actions that you did not take and the goals that you did not execute. Nobody else can be responsible for your dreams. I do not want you to die with dreams that were never realized. I want you to awaken to what is possible, take action and realize all of your dreams. Baragona, Justin (November 15, 2016). Retrieved April 4, 2017.You must cultivate a gratitude practice. As some of you know, I have written about gratitude on some of the largest platforms in the world, My writing has been translated into multiple languages and I have heard personal stories from people all over the globe. What I have discovered is that we could all use a little more gratitude. In fact, gratitude has carried me through personal loss, tragedy, failure, disappointment and so much more. In those moments where life was the most difficult, I found myself leaning into the practice of gratitude. For more than twenty years, I have kept a gratitude journal. When I first started, it was very challenging to come up with a list of things that I was grateful for. However, as time progressed I found myself writing paragraphs about my life and all the things that I was grateful for. Gratitude profoundly changed me and everything about my life. It reminded me of how blessed I am, how much my life matters, and how much I have to give to be a blessing to others. Most of all, gratitude broke the complaining complex in my life and shifted my perspective about life. I want to challenge you to make gratitude a daily practice in your life. It is not enough to reflect one day a year on gratitude. Imagine what would happen if you took time every single day to reflect and express gratitude. I guarantee that cultivating a gratitude practice will produce tremendous growth in your life.
