As I reach the town centre the crowds become denser and the shop fronts are bright and noisy and with every step I have a stronger desire to run, but I don’t. I push on. Even though I understand that this book is unrealistic and wrong, it really pains me that a lot of people younger than me will go into this book expecting representation and a form of hope and come out with 1) an unrealistic expectation that one person can cure you 2) an even more unrealistic expectation that recovery will be fast and seamless.

one thing we did know, though, is that if sophie kinsella were to write a YA contemporary it would, of course, have a massive romance. that goes without saying. Oh, and - the dialogues are fantastic and feel real. Hilarious. I know, I have to stop using that word. Someday (not when I talk about Kinsella) Sophie Kinsella has sold over 40 million copies of her books in more than 60 countries, and she has been translated into over 40 languages. Seriously amazing, and amazingly serious, Finding Audrey stands out amongst other books in the YA genre for being realistic, which is my highest praise. I hope Kinsella continues to write for young adults, because we sure do need more books like this on the shelves! Honestly, it was funny and hilarious but as time goes by and their yelling keeps on going, it was annoying. Imagine you're this family's neighbor and everyday you can hear their fights, wouldn't that be a bit irritating?
