Everett, Walter (1999). The Beatles as Musicians: Revolver Through the Anthology . New York, NY: Oxford University Press. ISBN 0-19-512941-5. Rubber Soul” is one of the best albums ever made in British 60’s music as well as one of The Beatles’ best out of their discography. It was absolutely the right thing for The Beatles to develop and grow up musically and artistically; otherwise, their music would’ve sounded boring and outdated. All following have a different, newer label design ("ST 33" on bottom is more round, newer typeface):

At some later, Time New Roman has been changed to Sans-sherif type. The matrix number printed on the label is now misaligned to the datestamp, being too far on the left. It’s with this style that we find almost all the later standard pressings XEX 579-5 / XEX 580-5. This version has a label with an misprint, an extra dot in “ IN.U.K.” on the side 1. Therefore, we date this label to 1968. Matrix numbers: XEX 579-5 / XEX 580-5. Ableton staff (28 October 2016).
