About this deal

So, lesson learned, not only do seasonal and hormonal changes affect one's reaction to scent, smoking/not smoking seems to have a huge influence too.

Joy Forever has interesting notes that do not bore or copy the syrupy sweet fragrances of the time, and manages to make JF a modern, unique daytime scent thats always appropriate. Silage is low and close to the body. Over sprayers/heavy handed users rejoice! You can get as lavish as you want! Longevity I get 4-6 hrs in my wearing and I do advise to spray on skin and clothing. Remember this is more for a discerning customer than most.. so give Joy Forever multiple wearings. It was bright and refreshing at first for this viIntage enthusiast.. then it began to haunt me and I grew to love this one. I believe great fragrances reveal themselves over multiple wearings. Compared to the syrupy fruity-florals of its time, Enjoy was considered a bit unsmiling and tight-assed. Even from the perspective of 2016, it seems a bit prim, if balanced. There is a sweetness to the perfume, especially in the drydown, but it has a saccharine quality that keeps the fruit from having a three-dimensionality. Enjoy doesn’t hide its artificiality. It molds the high-pitched florals and grainy fruits into a crystalline configuration that suits the perfume’s sharp edges. It was a floral but compared to the powerful bright floral scents of the 80’s it was so subtle, it was almost invisible. Unable to find any ‘joy’ wearing this perfume for my personal pleasure, I decided to purposefully try and gauge the male reaction to it.

Acquired a vintage bottle of the pure parfum, from the 70s. Achingly beautiful, infinitely better than the current EDP and EDT, which I really like, but don't love the way I love this. Animalic floral, the natural accords make all the difference. My bottle is partially used, but has been so well preserved. This is the Joy I remember. Now to find a vintage 1000 perfume, as that is my favorite out of all the classic Patous. In 1984, Jean Kerléo was responsible for the reformulation and reissue of twelve of Patou's fragrances from 1925 to 1964 in a series called "Ma Collection", including the first fragrances created for the house in 1925, the trio "Amour-Amour", "Que sais-je?" and "Adieu Sagesse". "Ma Collection" was sold in flacons modelled after the originals by Louis Süe. [9]

In 1925 Patou launched his perfume business with three fragrances created by Henri Alméras. [4] In 1928, Jean Patou created "Huile de Chaldée", the first sun tan lotion. Plans are abandoned for 'something new'. A very millennial approach. Not all customers are Millenials. We don't all want syrupy, synthetic fruitichoulis everyday of the week. We even mourn Chanel with their insipidly weak formulations now. only one DOWNFALL for all the beauty above.........BANANAS, i am not sure i want to smell like bananas, who would want to smell like a banana? not me............. Joy EDP isn't wearable for me as a day fragrance. It really needs to decloak itself after about an hour. I went on to buy full-sized bottles of the EDP and EDT. The EDP, I will keep for later and the EDT, I plan to wear. All these, with the exception of Le Sien, were re-released during the 1980s (under the name Ma Collection), and were available until recently, all in a 50ml Eau de Toilette Spray, 75ml Eau de Toilette bottle, and 30ml pure perfume bottle, each with a unique art deco box. A Jean Patou silk scarf, printed in a pattern complementing that of the box was included with the pure perfume. Joy remains the world's second best-selling scent (the first is Chanel No. 5), Joy was created by Henri Alméras for Patou at the height of the Great Depression (1935) for Patou's former clients who could no longer afford his haute couture clothing line.Is that metal exhaustion of the owners - or what? Big money offered for the brand assets to wipe them out?
