About this deal

I don’t know how many times I have to say this, but the one thing Scream did for the horror movie genre was that its ripple-effect is still somewhat active today. If there were no Scream odds are that there’d be no I Know What You Did Last Summer and therefore no resulting sequel (and therefore no shots of Jennifer Love Hewitt in a tank top). As with most every moderately successful film franchise, a sequel was inevitable. However half of the four person original cast had been killed off (Ryan Philippe and Sarah Michelle Gellar) in the previous installment, so the challenge was which teenybopper duo to fill their shoes? Oh and don’t let a little thing like a plot get in the way of a good sequel either, OK? In his free time, Shane loves going for runs and playing with his 16-year-old beagle Butterscotch. Butters for short, she has been the greatest love of his and inspires him everyday, both creatively and emtionally. On top of that, he's now a huge collector. He loves Funko Pop, McFarlane Toys, and Neca's huge line of horror figures. In the last two years he has been going to a lot of conversations to buy an unhealthy amount of figures. This has also allowed him to meet some of his favorite filmmakers/actors like Mike Flanagan, Matthew Lillard, John Carpenter, Grace Caroline Curry, Steve Burns and Kathryn Newton. and detailed clarity of individual cheers and instrumentals. Horror elements offer pounding depth and slashing realism which, combined with music, I Know What You Did Last Summer 4K looks very good. Grain consistency is almost perfect. Let down by a couple of noisy scenes. Nothing crazy though. I am surprised that Sony actually got this looking so good. The detail is absolutely incredible. For 90's cameras, it's pretty amazing. It's not oversharpened, but there is some camera ringing around hard objects. It is sporadic and didn't ruin the experience for me. Also, one of the best things about Sony transfers is their clarity under movement. Panning shots retain a lot of detail, something that cannot be said for movies like Scream and Scream 2. I discussed this with my brother, and the difference between this and Scream is significant. It's a Sony thing, it's the icing on the cake. Sony just pushes harder to get better transfers and this is no exception. parameters, the film looks practically brand new. Gone is that DVD-era processed appearance, replaced by a formidable filmic image that is in every The thing I enjoyed most about this was the actual personal story of these four people who find their lives changed over a bad decision. The set up itself is pretty simple but it works extremely well because we've all been young and made foolish decisions and one of the best moments in the film comes when the four teens must decide whether or not to go to the cops. Their reasoning behind it is interesting and their thought process is something you don't typically see in a slasher. The damage that their decision has on their lives is something else brought up in the screenplay that works extremely well. All of this happens before we even get to the horror elements. The mystery surrounding the killer keeps you guessing for certain.

This has been remixed and remastered for sure. Dialog volume is balanced perfectly. Height effects and surround sound is noticeable right away. Music is above me and around me. Also, very early on I heard some deep bass. This movie has been remixed for modern home cinema, and for people with subwoofers because the bass is excellent. It's 100% been re-tuned from the old Dolby True HD mix. I love it! I wish all Atmos remixes also improved bass like this. Most just keep the levels the same, and mix sound above and around. This sounds good, but this movie has been completely rebalanced, and why not eh? After that, we’re off and running through a pacy plot offering plenty of potential killer-candidates, before the gang’s focus narrows to one seeming impossibility, and inventive deaths (I’d avert your eyes from Coach Eric – you’ll know when). There are plenty of blood and guts besides (we begin with a dripping goat head in a wardrobe and escalate rapidly from there), and a lightly-S&M relationship between Allison and Lennon’s father and the local police chief that, given the number of secrets the former is carrying about his daughters, would seem ill-advised. Despite its widespread recognition, “The Lottery” has received only a few screen adaptations over the years. The earliest was in Cameo Theatre , a long lost 1950s anthology series notable for its minimalistic production design. Then there was Larry Yust’s ‘69 short-film; this piece of kindertrauma captures the source material’s unmatched ability to go from casual to ghastly in mere seconds. We even see some references to what’s to come, with the beach being named “Dawson’s Beach”. Director Jim Gillespie also does a great job, especially with this being his feature film directorial debut. It’s propulsive and fun, but manages to deliver the nonsense and jump scares with just enough emotional and psychological realism – especially as the friends start to suspect each other – to keep us invested.
