I feel like as we know Magnolia has some big daddy issues so she kind of looked at this older guy for the protection she needed, but she didn't love him. First of all, these books carry Daisy’s name in their title so why in the nine circles of hell did we agree on witnessing the nonsense of Julian’s love story with - once again, going three for three - MAGNOLIA PARKS. the character development, the different relationship + friendship dynamics, the angst, magnolia + julian? oh, because we had to sit thru COUNTLESS and ENDLESS chapters of Julian and Magnolia having sex against every surface of The Compound. Unfortunately not 5 stars but let‘s rename it to Julian Haites and Magnolia Parks: The Great Undoing.

Miss liliac bambi should just accept she’s stuck for life with her idiotic coke addict codependent baby daddy and maybe just leave the other male specimen to their miserable life without making them more miserable! Anyway, some parts of this book felt like a different Daisy than from book 1, especially when it came to the Tiller relationship. and he does love magnolia, but what he does for a living kind of stands in the way of him loving her. I also don't get how Julian fell sooo in love with Magnolia, like this 31 years old guy didn't love a girl in all his life but fell for a girl he kind of date for 3 months who keep telling him that she is in love with BJ (as she should) and that she thinks of BJ while she is having sex with him (as she should).if someone told me read one more chapter in his pov or stub my toe on every single corner in my life, guess wtf i’m picking. I wanna start off by saying that I love every single fucked up character in this series (yes, Magnolia too) and that this may be long and painful to read because I‘m still frustrated.

When he had that PTSD episode he never apologized or really explained to her what happened to him and his parents and his fears because of this.Even the cover points towards Julian, another disappointment, as the story-telling tattoos feel repetitive after learning how important BJ’s tattoos about Magnolia are in MP1 and MP2. In the other three books, Magnolia was portrayed as a very sweet girl with a large personality who was maybe a bit too ditzy and obsessed with fashion. my heart does break for him, because he’s a gang-lord that word always makes me cringe a little ngl, and loving someone means putting them in danger, which makes things a lot more complicated for him.

A clear theme in the series is how the female leads use men as coping mechanisms and jump between guys, which I know is because they’re being portrayed as real and flawed.He kept Magnolia in the dark about his life and recklessly put her in danger, which resulted in Magnolia getting injured and Bridget's death.
