The Color Monster is a children’s book by Anna Llenas about a confused and overwhelmed monster who learns to sort his emotions with the help of a little girl. I am organization obsessed, coffee loving, playful therapist who is showing up for life in the north woods of Minnesota. It is a fabulous book for initiating social emotional learning activities with children in the early grades and the basis for this fun social emotional learning activity. This fun activity has learners practicing their reading skills as they work to match the speech bubble to the correct monster. I think it's great to teach feeling identification, but odd to tell kids how to feel about certain colors.
