About this deal

The oil goes deeper into the leather, and helps to maintain the leather’s suppleness by replacing oils lost during the drying out process. We have expert footwear fitters ready to help if you need guidance on how this product fits, what could be suitable for your use and foot shape. Delivering a high shine while remaining waterproof in even the wettest weather, Leder Gris wax keeps army boots and other leather goods in excellent condition. Following the issue of the first boots, many soldiers asked if we would make a Leder-Gris product with a higher level of shine for parade and barracks use – so we took the Leder Gris Original formula and we increased the level of waxes and colour pigments, at the same time we reduced the oil content.

Soldiers who get their boots wet every day during training exercises and gamekeepers required a treatment with a higher oil content, so I developed Leder-Gris Xtreme.Brush in Leder-Gris when the boots are ALMOST dry, use the brush to drive the wax-oil INTO the leather, ALWAYS treat with Leder-Gris before storage. Please don't send a possible faulty or warranty product back without completing the claim form first, as we are unable to refund your postage if you do. If you’re looking for other colours or repair treatments, check our full range of Leder Gris wax and keep your army boots looking their best.

A brand new formula has been developed by recognised military boots brand Altberg, the Leder Gris wax is designed to be better than standard wax polishes. All leather will eventually show signs of cracking where the boot leather flexes, however, drying boots too quickly may shrink the boots and will also harden the leather and accelerate flex cracking – regular treatment of Leder-Gris will extend the time before cracking occurs. Leder-Gris® Xtreme, if used at an early stage, can help delay flex cracking, however, if hardening is too advanced then it is less effective. However, correct and constant use of Leder-Gris will extend the time before which flex cracking will occur. I think the recent financial crisis and recession has shown how short sighted we were in England when we closed down key exporting companies such as the Pittards tannery in Leeds. The moment its applied it provides waterproof for your military boot, and as time moves on the oil goes deeper into the leather and helps maintains the leathers suppleness - this is the common reason the leather starts to crack is when the leather is dry and has relatively no oil content left. This does not apply to any perishable goods, unsealed software or item personalised or made to your specification.
