About this deal

Relationships between witches and vampires has been forbidden for centuries. So they're also battling with the fact that they're basically starcrossed lovers, neither are permitted by the laws to come together in such a way. But how can you choose not to love someone? I have to admit... I wanted more intimate scenes with Tori and Christian. Time would pass between paragraphs/chapters and their closeness was eluded to, but I wanted to witness more of those moments and the dialogue. Granted, if I got my wish, the book would probably have been two or three times as long! I think the reason I felt this way is because I read this while there was a lot going on personally, so I kept having to put the book down instead of devouring it in a couple of days. Oh well, I will just have to re-read it :). I loved all the other character's such as Angie, aunt Holly,Charla,Lucian and Gabe even with him being sooooooo evil.I also really loved that it was told from Tori and Christian POV with was a nice surpise as I thought the book was just going to be Tori's voice.

The two skeletons go to the park and enjoy the swing and playing with the dog but when they play football they clash and are injured ... the answer is obvious,"Send for Doctor Bones!" Party Poopers" (double length) — Molly wants to be invited to a Cute Doll party. The cute dolls want to invite the monsters. Squishy cannot wait but Bumpy does not want to go. Hero Antagonist: He cares about the rules, so he's technically a good guy, but it's the harsh methods in which he enforces the rules and his constantly being at odds with Bumpy and friends that make him an antagonist. The voices are... uh... decent I guess? I hated the voices for Squishington and the cute dolls, and those were the ones I had a problem with. The only one that could be considered great was the voice of Gail matthuis' character, Molly the doll.

Big Mike

Days later she wakes up in the hospital, learning that she almost died, and that she may possibly have some sort of blood disease. The good news: she is alive. The doctors can't explain it and do not seem to be overly concerned about her previous condition because it miraculously disappeared. With the accident on the lips of all of the students in her school, the best remedy for Tori is to relocate. She was a social outcast before - this would turn her into a social leper. Mr Bumpy wanted Santa Claus's bag of toys for himself in the Christmas special T'was the Night Before Bumpy he then loses the presents when the children of the world and the characters and the earthworm Juaquin Gusanito Sin Maños and the humming bird Doris D. Bird get there presents and are happy expect Bumpy who is disappointed and wanted to keep one present for himself and he tells Squishy he lost his feet and Squishy is upset at Bumpy and loses his trust in him Bumpy is ashamed of himself and is deeply upset, he gives Squish the last Christmas present, hoping that someday Squish would forgive him. Squishington opens the gift which is revealed to be "Noise Maker tap shoes", Squish begins clinking the noise making shoes and starts dancing to the music. The toys gather around Squish and watch his performance, he finishes dancing and the toys all applaud him. Squishington is happy that he finally fulfilled his dream to tap dance and forgives Mr Bumpy, becoming friends again. She goes to a new school and meets a vampire (no he’s not labelled as such but after the opening prelude why even pretend this is supposed to be a secret). And ZOMG he’s hot and awesome and hot and sexy and hot and has an amazing voice and he’s hot – this goes on for a few paragraphs.

To my delight, Bloodspell did not read like a typical Young Adult novel. When Tori turns 17 she learns that she is a powerful witch, and struggles to control her powers before they take control of her. Due to events that occur during her "metamorphosis", she has to change schools. Tori ends up going to a private high school adjacent to a college campus, and living in an apartment on her own. Tori meets her match in Christian... but their love is forbidden by law centuries old, and the danger of them severely hurting each other makes their relationship near impossible. Villain Song: He sings "I'm Bigger Than You" in one of the Karaoke Cafe segments, where he boasts about using his size and power to get everyone to do what he says. Water Way to Go" — Squishington withers when the plumber turns off the water. Musical number for Bumpy, Squishington, and the Cute Dolls (Soul). Note: Molly Coddle did not appear in this episode. Well-Intentioned Extremist: All he wants to do is make sure everyone follows the rules, but he's a textbook bad cop and moreover, Literal-Minded; for example, in "Not a Peep", when the Boy is told by Dad he doesn't want to hear a peep, he tells Destructo this, and he takes it to mean silencing every single source of sound.

Bumps in the Night is one of the titles in Allan Ahlberg's iconic children's picture book series about skeletons, Funnybones. Despite being set in a dark dark house, this brightly coloured book is perfect for early readers!

The middle grade horror debut from USA Today bestselling author Amalie Howard in which a girl stays with her grandmother in Trinidad for the summer and discovers that she comes from a long line of witches. I have read novels about vampires and witches loathing each other but nothing comes close to Bloodspell. The history between vampires and witches that Howard weaved was captivating and heart-wrenching. I enjoyed reading about Tori’s ancestry. The journal itself generated so much intrigue that it has become one of the things that I looked forward to. He has long green eye stalks like a snail and large saucer like eyes and and red pupils. He has a bulbous green nose covered in warts and big square shaped teeth.

Oh, and here's another great thing about this book. Obviously, there is a romance, but what the synopsis can't tell you is that Howard's writing of it is very sensual. Not slutty. Not sexy. Sensual. She really appeals to your senses as you read it, and that made the romance more compelling in a way that I haven't read in YA. Observe:

In The Bowl of the Squishy Prince" — Squishy, needing a boost in self-esteem, tries to find a princess who will kiss him. The show was traditionally split into two major parts per half-hour (occasionally dedicating a full half hour per show, or sometimes splitting into three parts), and had a music video at the end of the episode, starring the three main characters and any minor characters involved in the episode. This musical montage would take clips from the episode itself and reiterate the life lessons learned in the episode. Firstly, we have a prologue paragraph telling us there’s a law that forbids vampires and witches from consorting.

Beauty and the Bump" — Bumpy falls for an antique china doll under glass, who becomes the Princess in his fairy-tale dream. Victoria is an outcast, teased by everyone around her. When she reaches breaking point because of a too friendly bully, she causes the boy to bleed while an evil voice in her head encourages her. Whenever Victoria's powerful blood compels her to commit evil, she revels in her infliction of pain despite how much it disgusts her initially and upon reflection every single time. Victoria blindly takes on the task of exploring her abilities whilst holding onto her humanity, attempting to fight her impending doom which will come from the hands of others who want her power or from her own if she cannot control herself.
