For example, one challenge in the Wonderscape realm is based on Isaac Newton, a famous English mathematician and physicist known for his laws of motion and universal theory of gravity. I tried to make sure every challenge tested a different skill – some are physical, others require brainpower and wits.

Additionally the fact Jennifer Bell decided to focus on icons that have not been highlighted as much. The main characters - Arthur, Ren and Cecily - were full of humour and very likeable; this was mainly because of the way that they reacted to the various problems that they were faced with. This in-reality adventure game uses the latest in technology to allow its users to travel to different realms, completing tasks and challenges to win the honour of meeting famous figures from throughout history. I really like history and technology, so I found the idea of a future of technological power really interesting. Due to timey-wimey constraints, if they don’t make it back home within 48 hours there’s a good chance that the universe will erase their existence.

I personally like the fact that it is a bit everything, a bit of history and computer games combined. This is a fun-filled, character-driven, fast-paced, vibrant story – but together with its thought-provoking, science-embracing and hero-referencing narrative, it will almost certainly win both hearts and minds. If you are under 16, please obtain your parent/guardian’s permission before submitting or ask your parent/guardian to submit on your behalf. Wonderscape is quite honestly one of the most propelling middle-grade books I have read, possibly ever! JB: If you’ve ever watched Star Trek, you’ll know the characters use ‘replicators’ to synthesize food on demand.The premise of three children getting stuck in a game is just really exciting and the story did not disappoint. I love stories and this little corner of the Internet is where I get to share some of my favorites with you. For instance, Arthur lives with his dad, who is taking care of him as a single parent, and Ren has two mums.

I thought the plot was serious because they had a limited amount of time to find the time key and their way home. Wonderscape is a book in which I have no words to describe it as it was so brilliant that I was rendered speechless at the end.

I also loved the fantasy adventure Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and Animal Crossing on Switch. I liked the world-building and the story, which are the two main things I always look out and rate first. Also, this book's main characters are teenagers who are facing situations mostly against robots and adults. But there's so much more to it than that, and the complexity of this world and the details written in blew me away. The synopsis cited this as being a blend of Jumanji and Ready Player one, and I'd say that was a pretty accurate analysis of the story.
