About this deal

Contrast ratio is the visual distance between the lightest and the darkest colors that may be reproduced on the display. Our sample achieved a figure of 980:1 at full brightness, which is pretty much identical to the promised 1000:1 ratio on the spec sheet. Dropping down to 120Hz fixes this and that's fine by me (so not as good as a dedicated Gsync unit built in but good enough).

General Display Type LED-backlit LCD monitor / TFT active matrix Energy Class Class G Energy Class (HDR) Class G Diagonal Size 27" Adaptive-Sync Technology AMD FreeSync, NVIDIA G-SYNC Compatible Panel Type Nano IPS Aspect Ratio 16:9 Native Resolution QHD 2560 x 1440 at 144 Hz Pixel Pitch 0. The 4K panel is capable of displaying extremely sharp and crisp images, so it’s a little weird that the OSD is rendered a little fuzzy, though it’s not like you’ll spend a ton of time here anyway, and it’s still better than most. The GL83A has a bit of back-light bleed in the bottom left, the GN850 does as well but it's slightly less. The Samsung has a faster 165Hz refresh rate, and it's certified by AMD to have native FreeSync support, while the LG is FreeSync compatible. Besides, Windows looks very flushed out with HDR on, and you’re required to turn it on in Windows to be able to enable it in your game settings. As the GL850, GN850 and GL83A are all within 10€ for me and the GL850 is always sold-out, the GN850 seems like the best deal overall. A ultra-fast speed of 144Hz allows gamers to see the next frame quickly and makes image to appear smoothly. However, the Gigabyte is better for office use because it has improved ergonomics and it gets brighter, so it's a better choice for well-lit rooms.

Built for gamers, it delivers the latest hardware, specs, ergonomics, sleek design and sensory experience. Attack first in dark Gamers can avoid snipers hiding in the darkest places and quickly escape situations when the flash explodes. Overall I think the image quality is great and it's a good value for money if you got a good gaming card and if you don't want to spend so much on a true 4k monitor. The front feet connect to the main pillar in an odd fashion, and I wish LG had kept its logo off for a cleaner aesthetic. The 27GN950 also comes with HDR600 support, which means it can produce up to 600 nits peak brightness when using just one of the HDR zones. Actual features, functionality, and other product specifications may differ and are subject to change without notice. The LG 27GN850-B/27GN880-B is a slight improvement over its predecessor, the LG 27GL850-B/27GL83A-B. No issues with input lag, latency, or motion blur and both monitors feel no different than the Dell (which is a good thing, that monitor was excellent in those regards).

Yes, if you need a monitor for both work and play, and it has to be 4K, the LG 27GN950 is a great option to consider. On the other hand, the 27GN850-B has a lower refresh rate of 144Hz compared to the 165Hz on the 32GN650-B. Gamers should appreciate the incredible response time at its max refresh rate of 144Hz, resulting in minimal motion blur, and it remains fast when gaming at 60Hz. The Nano IPS display achieves 1ms GTG TN-level speeds and ultra-fast refresh rates, while mesmerizing with a rich and vivid picture. The storage temperature shows the range from a minimum to a maximum temperature, within which storing of the display is considered to be safe. The maximum number of colors, which the display is able to reproduce, depends on the type of the panel in use and color enhancing technologies like FRC. The Dell has a max refresh rate of 165Hz, as opposed to the LG's 144Hz, and this results in a slightly quicker response time.
