AM2 AM2+ AM3 AM3+ AM4 AM5 FM1 FM2 FM2+ LGA1150 LGA1151 LGA1155 LGA1156 LGA1200 LGA1366 LGA1700 LGA2011-3 LGA2066 Noise levels will be measured with our sound meter at a distance of 1 meter from the test bench. The cooler’s fans will be set to their maximum RPM rating. The ambient noise level in the room is measured at 37.5dBA and the peak noise level of the cooler will be recorded in dBA.

The base of the cooler looks quite small and possibly will not offer full coverage of either current Intel or AMD mainstream desktop processors. The base is covered with a pre-applied thermal compound coating which will help speed up installation. The temperatures presented in the graphs will be average Delta temperatures measured over the length of the test. We will calculate the Delta temperature by deducting the ambient temperature in the test room from the measured CPU temperature, both at idle and under load. Corsair TM30 thermal compound is used at all times to ensure consistency and all CPU fans will be set to maximum RPM to determine the raw thermal performance. The Freezer 7 X uses a fan motor newly developed by ARCTIC. This runs less audibly and more efficiently, so that the temperature of the coils is 20 °C lower than with conventional motors. This increases the lifespan of the fans considerably, allowing ARCTIC to grant a 6-year warranty period for the Freezer 7 X. The coolers are tested at maximum output and at lower speeds corresponding to fixed noise levels of 45, 42, 39, 36, 33 and 31 dBA. Noise levels are measured with a Reed R8080 noise meter ( with a parabolic collar to increase sensitivity) at a distance of 15 centimetres from the sound source (fan). The lower profile is one of the biggest advantages of this cooler, especially in this lower price range. However, the toll for this is a significantly smaller fin area than that of, for example, the competing SilentiumPC Spartan 5. Its fins also feature more prominently molded protrusions to increase the overall radiating area. Something similar is also present on the Freezer 7 X, although here it is more kind of relatively shallow “imprints” (rather than a proper molding) from the underside of the ribs.In the following Arctic Freezer diagram you can see from top to bottom the results of the Intel Core i5-10500 CPU in idle with 100% speed, i.e. approx. 2089 rpm, below with 60% at approx. 1422 rpm and finally with 20% speed at approx. 525 rpm. After that, these three speed ranges follow again with identical volume at Prime95 Small FFTs full load.

Compared with the previous Freezer 7 Pro, Arctic has trimmed down the size and features of the Freezer 7 X. There are just two 6mm direct touch copper heat pipes set into an aluminium base plate with a total of 44 aluminium fins that make up the heat sink. A single 92mm P-series PWM fan, optimised for high static pressure, is housed in a plastic shroud and clips directly to the heatsink.ARCTIC's long-running CPU cooler gets a worthy successor. It feels like the end of an era: the Freezer 7 Pro has long been one of our most loyal companions, and even though it wasn't a high-performance beast, it was known and loved by countless customers around the world. But after more than 10 years together, it's time to say farewell. Unlike on the Spartan 5, the Freezer 7 X fan can be conveniently removed. It is attached to the fins on the sides with two wider hooks. The connection is strong enough and the fan does not rattle on the heatsink, has no play and holds firmly. So the fan doesn’t tend to “make the fins ring” due to vibrations, but Arctic rubber pads (for the future, when plastics won’t be so fresh…) could be used. Of course, some vibrations are transmitted to the cooler body and from it to other components and can be a source of annoying secondary noise.

Aprašymas - Aušintuvo tipas: CPU, lizdas: Intel LGA775/1150/1151/1155/1156/1200, AMD AM2(+)/AM3(+)/AM4/FM1/FM2(+), ventiliatoriaus skersmuo: 100 mm, ventiliatoriaus greitis (aps./min): 2000 aps./min, garantija: 2 metai The direct touch heat pipes attached to the Freezer 7 X and an optimised design of the 44 cooling fins together ensure that the heat from the CPU can be ideally removed and released into the air.Pressure-optimised Fan: With a PWM controlled, pressure-optimised 92 mm fan, the Freezer 7 X offers high cooling power at a low price. What about Intel platforms? Well, Intel only bundles a cooler with its low-end processors these days and they are adequate for the thermal loads they will encounter, so an upgrade may be a little pointless. I would also expect users of the higher-end Intel K series CPUs to be going for a thermal solution with a little more cooling headroom. However, I would expect the Freezer 7 X to be more than capable of cooling an Intel Core i5-9400 or similar CPU. The cooler itself comes with Artic's new 92mm P-fan (PWM 300-2000RPM) already attached with a nice shroud to ensure airflow is directed straight through the cooler as opposed to their previous Freezer 7 Pro design that wasn't quite so guided. While the fan and shroud can be removed for cleaning purposes it is using a proprietary mount that makes it to where you can't just grab a different fan and toss on in case of an issue, but the 6-year warranty should alleviate those concerns. The Freezer 7 X uses direct touch heatpipes. This ensures that the heat to be dissipated is transferred directly to the heatpipes without an additional material layer, and transported into the heatsink via the pipes. The fan volume is measured with a sound pressure level meter in dB from a distance of 100cm. Additionally we determine the respective speed. Arctic Freezer 7 X test results … Direct-Touch Heatpipes: Two direct-touch heat pipes with pre-applied MX-2 thermal paste enable ideal heat dissipation. Thanks to a combination of alloy and lubricant developed in Germany, the friction within the bearing is reduced, leading to greater efficiency. In this way, less heat is generated, there is less bearing noise and the life of the fan is extended. Direct Touch Heat PipesShortSummaryDescription - "ARCTIC Freezer 7 X" - kompaktiškas daugialypis CPU aušintuvas, oro aušintuvas, 9,2 cm, 300 aps/min, 2000 aps/min, 0,3 sone, aliuminis, juodas, baltas The cooler is always fastened via a clasp with two windows, which catch on the hooks of the frame from above and below. The windows are attached to the clip via screws so that they can be loosened for convenient mounting. However, you must not forget to tighten them afterwards, on both sides, so that the pressure of the cooler is even. Screwing a cooler in a smaller case can be quite complicated due to the tight space. Memory won’t cross your path though, the Freezer 7 X doesn’t interfere above the DIMM slots. Since the Arctic Freezer 7X isn't naturally suited to being used on a high-end system such as our usual Intel Z390 test bench, we have adjusted the testing procedure to better suit the occasion. So after that we loaded the Intel Core i5-10500 CPU with Prime95 Small FFTs, so that with Base Frequency Boost about 100-102 Watt TDP is reached and notes the temperature at low, medium and maximum speed. To measure the thermal performance of the Arctic Freezer 7 X, we devised an easily repeatable series of tests. The only variable is the coolers themselves to ensure the results can be accurately compared against one another.
