About this deal

Shown to stay color-true all day, the 24-hour long-wearing formula balances coated pigments with water to deliver flawless full coverage with an undetectable, natural finish. The breathable foundation instantly smooths the skin and covers imperfections without clogging pores, or looking cakey for 24 hours, with immediate & all-day moisturization. Expertly developed with a balanced range of warm, cool and neutral undertones, BECCA’s evenly balanced shade range covers the lightest to the deepest skin tones. Why It's Special In its post-Hill existence, Becca enlisted the celebrities Christy Teigen, Khloé Kardashian, Malika Haqq and Barbie Ferreira to spark interest, but nothing replicated the frenzy Champagne Pop had whipped up. Meanwhile, the initial beauty influencer mania was ebbing, and the makeup machine it built ran out of gas. The pandemic certainly hurt the makeup segment—according to The NPD Group, prestige makeup sales in the United States decreased 34% last year—but it had been sliding in advance of the health crisis. In 2019, Lauder registered impairment charges for makeup brands Becca, Too Faced and Smashbox. that is, or may reasonably be considered to be submitted in extreme volumes and as such be deemed as ‘spam’; The buildable full-coverage foundation effortlessly masks imperfections while promising not to clog your pores, delivering ultimate breathability. Upon application, the sumptuous fluid melts seamlessly into skin, creating a silky airbrushed effect. For fuller coverage, use a foundation brush to pat and press the foundation in small layers to the center or your face, blending outwards.

I still find this to be one of the worst foundations I've tried, however, I tried Wayne Goss's tip of mixing in some oil and it made a big difference.

The caption provided more details: "The global pandemic has had an impact on everyone around the world on many levels. It has also had a tremendous impact on so many businesses. At Becca, an accumulation of challenges, together with the global impact of COVID-19, has sadly been more than our business can withstand, and we have had to make the heartbreaking decision to close down the Becca brand at the end of September 2021." Australian makeup artist Rebecca Morrice-Williams started Becca in 2001. Steven Schapera, who’s continued to be involved in the beauty industry with haircare brand London Labs and incubator Invincible Brands, and Andrea Harwood, previously CEO of supplement company WelleCo, were co-founders of the brand. Shortly after its launch, Becca entered Sephora in the United States. In a statement to Women’s Wear Daily, a Lauder spokeswoman said, “The brand could not sustain success for the long term. We are so proud of the Becca brand team and all that they have accomplished over the years. We are handling this matter with sensitivity, both internally and externally. For those who have supported the brand for 20 years, and those who will stand by the brand through this wind down, we thank you.” The publication detailed Becca employees will be laid off. As of Wednesday morning, 240 employees of the brand were listed on LinkedIn. that is, or may reasonably be considered to be, defamatory, libellous, hateful, racially or religiously biased or offensive, unlawfully threatening or unlawfully harassing to any individual, partnership or corporation;

Carolyn Chen, founder of Reset, owner of the beauty brands Vesca and Orosa, and Hana Ben-Shabat, founder of consumer insights firm Gen Z Planet, deduce Lauder’s shuttering of Becca reflects updated corporate priorities. Chen speculates Lauder is “constantly evaluating new investment and acquisition opportunities. I think Estée Lauder had to evaluate their opportunity cost of continuing to invest in Becca, [which] most likely had several quarters of declining performance or investing more money into other high-growth opportunities and chose to invest in more promising opportunities.” In a note, Wissink mentions Lauder has already leveraged learnings from Becca in highlighter collections from Clinique, MAC, Bobbi Brown and Smashbox. Australian makeup artist Rebecca Morrice-Williams started Becca in 2001. She was an early advocate for diverse shade ranges and insisted that retailers carry the brand's full product assortment. The changing influencer landscape has made the Hill model incredibly tough to duplicate. “We are seeing a shift toward micro-influencers playing a bigger role rather than the macro-influencers, and this is due to saturation in the beauty space,” says Amra Beganovich, co-founder of digital marketing agency A&E and an influencer with the handle clubfashionista. “Big influencers had become so staged and overproduced that they lost touch with their audience.” Becca's bestselling highlighters overshadowed its complexion products. Complexion products tend to drive loyalty and replenishment.On Wednesday, Estée Lauder Companies Inc. revealed it has decided to close Becca Cosmetics at the end of September. The first time I tried this foundation, I had to remove it and start over as it looked awful. I tried a couple of different brushes as well as a beautyblender but somehow it actually accentuated my pores. I added a drop of The Ordinary's Argan Oil to mix into the amount of foundation I was going to wear, and it makes the foundation a hundred times easier to work with. It blends better, feels more comfortable, and looks more natural without compromising on coverage. Arriagada says, “Awareness for the brand was a challenge, though the products were beautiful, until the Jaclyn Hill collaboration, which was the collaboration that signaled the beginning of the social media influencer wave. The response was unprecedented, and it took the brand to the stratosphere.” Finish with BECCA’s Skin Love Glow Shield Prime & Set Mist or Hydra-Mist Set & Refresh Powder to help set and refresh the appearance of makeup for a long-lasting, fresh look.

In 2011, Robert DeBaker, ex-CEO of Korres North America, became president and CEO of Becca. In 2012, Luxury Brand Partners acquired the brand at a bargain price in a move industry sources describe as almost a favor to the lagging property. The company had been focused on developing brands to energize the professional beauty sector, and Becca’s traditional retail approach was an anomaly for it. Following its departure from Sephora, the brand went the drugstore route in places like Duane Reade, and its assortment ballooned to 350 products. Coming in a wide range of shades, the foundation will suit all skin tone and types. Each shade is carefully developed to consider neutral, cool, and warm undertones in both light and dark varieties. No matter the shade you choose, you can be sure you’ll benefit from coverage that’s transfer and water-resistant while remaining true to colour. For medium buildable coverage, use a dampened sponge and lightly pat onto areas of concern first. Blend the remaining foundation onto the center of the face until the product looks seamless and skin-like.Designed to be lightweight without compromising on coverage, BECCA’s foundation delivers 24-hours of lasting power to ensure day-long perfection. It’s formulated using both concentrated pigments (21%) and water (22%), ensuring an optimum balance between colour and flexible comfort. You’ll be treated to a finish that looks and feels completely natural, helping to disguise blemishes including hyperpigmentation, discolouration, redness and acne. As the buzz around makeup influencers diminished, Becca had trouble replicating the success of Champagne Pop. It tried with products in collaboration with Christy Teigen, Khloé Kardashian, Malika Haqq and Barbie Ferreira. Inside a vast company juggling several makeup brands—in addition to Becca, Too Faced and Smashbox, there’s MAC, Bobbi Brown and Tom Ford Beauty—Becca didn’t manage to find sure footing. “The brand hasn’t evolved much and struggled to stay relevant,” says Melissa Hibbert, a makeup artist and brand consultant. Patricia Valera, founder of brand development agency Beautybrandr, agrees, saying, “Becca can be a case study for what happens to a brand that doesn’t have a crystal-clear point of differentiation in this day and age. Today, even large brands don’t have the luxury to rely solely on having pretty colors. They need to have a deeper meaning.”

Becca’s best foundation to instantly camouflage all skin concerns from covering pores & acne to hyperpigmentation & redness. Shown to stay colour true all day, the 24-hour long wearing formula balances coated pigments with water to deliver flawless full coverage with an undetectable, natural finish. Humidity, sweat, water & transfer resistant, the breathable full coverage foundation instantly smooths the skin and covers all imperfections without clogging pores or looking cakey for 24 hours, with immediate & all day moisturization. Having said that, after setting it it's still not a great finish and does highlight texture a lot for a matte foundation. To make matters worse, any blush or contour you put on top of it is impossible to blend (and yes, I have set the foundation with powder by then). Blush looks patchy and uneven. In a consumer sensory study, the following results were observed:• • 97% of consumers stated it instantly provided full coverage without a heavy look or feel use of the content you supply does not violate these Terms of Use and will not cause injury to any person or entity.You agree to indemnify and hold Space NK (and its officers, directors, agents, subsidiaries, joint ventures, employees and third-party service providers, including but not limited to Bazaarvoice, Inc.), harmless from all claims, demands, and damages (actual and consequential) of every kind and nature, known and unknown including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising out of a breach of your representations and warranties set forth above, or your violation of any law or the rights of a third party. I use Hourglass' veil mineral primer which usually makes my skin look smooth, but in spite of that, the foundation still looks awful and just gets progressively worse as it sets and dries.
