About this deal

Finally, we come to the most expensive and sought-after card in Obsidian Flames: the Special Illustration Rare variant of Charizard EX. To those with even a passing interest or knowledge in Pokémon, this will be an unsurprising outcome as cards featuring the world’s favourite Pokémon usually ascend to the zenith of popularity (such as the Shiny Charizard from Shining Fates). Charizard EX’s Alt Art is number 223 in the Obsidian Flames card list.

In second place we have… another Charizard. This time, it’s the special golden Hyper Rare variant of Charizard EX. This card belongs to the small cloister of golden cards, of which Obsidian Flames only has 3 available (1 Pokémon, 1 Stadium and 1 Energy) making it particularly rare. Hyper Rare Charizard EX is one of the very last cards in the set, sitting at number 228 out of 230 cards. Following on from the Paldea Evolved set, the Scarlet and Violet era of the Pokémon TCG has received another expansion in the form of Obsidian Flames. This is the third set to make its way to the Pokémon SV TCG and there are a lot of interesting things about this set. For one, it is the first set to really experiment with the Tera Pokémon, giving fan favourites like Tyranitar a completely new typing to mix up both the illustrations and gameplay of the TCG. The other main thing about this set is that it is the first Scarlet and Violet set to include the world’s most beloved Pokémon, Charizard, which makes it far more desirable. The Pokemon is very rare and is very hard to catch. It is often seen flying over forests, trying to find Pokemon to fight it!The card has seen a lot of hype, so it might hold its value for a while, and possibly in the long term as well. What do you guys think about this product? Those cards are just amazing. As you guys may know, these cards may be a part of the final Sword and Shield Set in Japan, VSTAR Universe. So I think there will be many more Alternate Art cards that we can get in the near future. I can’t wait! is off to a great start for every Poke fan around the globe. Apart from the next generation games being announced and Legends: Arceus release, we also have gotten a brand new expansion, Pokemon Brilliant Stars. The expansion holds a lot of potential and houses many coveted cards.

Charizard tends to get a spacial treatment often in the TCG. But, Pokemon Brilliant Stars is showing it some extra love this time around. There are 5 different Charziard chase cards in the expansion, each one of which is being sold for crazy prices right now. Here are the 10 most expensive cards in the Pokémon TCG Scarlet and Violet Obisidian Flames expansion. The Charizard V Alternate Full Art shows the Charizard fighting against a Venusaur in the middle of a Volcano! One of which is the Charizard V Alternate Full Art, one of the most in-demand cards since the release. Its beautiful artwork attracts every Pokemon TCG collector, so we decided to shed some light on this fantastic piece. In addition to this news, here is the upcoming slate on Pokémon TCG releases for the fourth quarter of 2022:

M Charizard EX #101 (Pokemon Evolutions) Details

Charizard is one of the original three starters introduced in the first generation of Pokemon games. It is undoubtedly the most popular Pokemon in the world after Pikachu. This fiery lizard has been a staple of the Pokemon company for years, and it doesn’t seem like it will stop being anytime soon. Just narrowly missing out on the top 4 is our next Special Illustration Rare, Pidgeot. As a fondly remembered Pokémon from Gen 1, Pidgeot has well earned its place amongst the small handful of Special Illustration cards in this set, coming in at number 225 out of 230 in the setlist. The Charizard V Alternate Full Art is known for its phenomenal illustration. The card has been illustrated by the super talented Ryoto Murayama. The artists have been churning out some great designs for a while now, some of which are shown above. The Sylveon V Max especially had been a massive hit amongst fans and holds its value today. The Arceus Alt Art may be the last on the list but definetly not the least favorite of the bunch. Although, many fans prefer Charizard by default, this set has shaken some expectations and made Arceus a fan favorite of the entire set list. Arceus was the focus of Pokemon Legends Arceus and subsequently became a huge focus in Brilliant Stars. This card could arguably be the best chase card in the set for that reason.

Illustrated beautifully by Akira Egawa, Charizard’s Alt Art displays the Pokémon’s majesty and ferocity in equal measure. This card is also one of the best adaptations of Pokémon Scarlet and Violet’s Terastilised phenomenon, with a gorgeous crystalised look across the entire card which makes it simultaneously seem both muted and explosive. Truly, this is an excellent card for any collector, Charizard fanboy or not. In this blog post, we’ll go over the origins of the card, followed by some fun trivia, the illustration and last but to least, the value the card holds right now.
