About this deal

I’ve enjoyed playing Project: ELITE at the two, three, and four-player counts, but I definitely preferred the three and four-player games (it’s best at four, in my opinion). Two-player is good, but you don’t get to team up as much. I’m thinking it’d also be fun at five and six, though possibly a little too chaotic.

My only real issue with the randomness in Project: ELITE is when aliens randomly keep spawning at the same location. I don’t mind the challenge of it, but the game just isn’t as fun when you have to constantly deal with aliens at your doorstep and you don’t get the chance to do anything else during the round (and possibly subsequent rounds). That only happened twice in eight games, but those were definitely my least favorite games. But I’d also take a moment to talk about the god awful artwork. Project: ELITE‘s artwork is generic 90’s sci-fi at best. You can tell that the artist was going for a first person perspective based on the rifle on the right side of the box, a generic space marine on the left, some nondescript viscera that’s never seen in-game, and an alien that also wasn’t featured in the game. It looks like the kind of game I would have desperately wanted when I was eight years old. It’s a genuine shame because no matter matter how many times the old adage gets repeated, there will always be people who judge a game by its box art. CMON Limited announced today they are producing an updated edition of the widely-acclaimed board game Project: ELITEby designers Konstantinos Kokkinis and Sotirios Tsantilas. Originally released in 2016, Project: ELITEis a unique real-time, cooperative board game like no other. Gameplay: Imagine a cross between Aliens and Starship Troopers: you have surgical precision objectives to achieve, and leave the battlefield as a team, wounded maybe, but alive. And all this within 8 game turns, without any character dying, and without any alien reaching the recovery area. Autumn Statement: State pension confirmed to rise by 8.5% from April 2024 – while some benefits will go up by 6.7%

I’ve always liked the tension in real-time cooperative games, and the tension level is pretty insane in Project: ELITE. Those two minutes fly by as you frantically roll your dice, move your hero, move the aliens, shoot the aliens, and try to complete those objectives. All of that does the job of making you feel like you’re in a super-fast-paced action scene in a sci-fi movie. I’m happy with the number of heroes and bosses that come in the base game, but I think they should have included more swarm alien types for a bit more variety. Even two more would have worked and they could have kept the same number of miniatures in the box (nine miniatures of five types instead of 15 of three types). I can't imagine an insert that would have protected the minis better than this one. It is custom made, of course. CMON has learned that you can't just produce a generic insert and expect your customers to be happy.

I think Project: ELITE is a fantastic real-time game. It was my second-most anticipated co-op of 2020 (behind only Sleeping Gods) and it has met my very high expectations. It’s surprisingly easy to learn and play, it’s about as exciting as board games get, and just about every game has two or three memorable moments. I’m not sure if I’d rank Project: ELITE above 5-Minute Dungeon, but it’s definitely one of the best real-time cooperative games that I’ve played. Project: ELITE is a fast-paced cooperative game for 1-6 players who take on the role of members of an ELITE squad recruited to stop an invading alien force. Project: ELITE is a cooperative, real-time, science fiction board game in which you attempt to stop a group of invading aliens and complete different missions. This new edition of the game was designed by Konstantinos Kokkinis, Marco Portugal, and Sotirios Tsantilas, and it’s co-published by Artipia Games and CMON.

If you don’t think it’d be too stressful for you and your group, I absolutely recommend playing Project: ELITE. It’s awesome. NatWest, Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) and Ulster Bank, which are all part of the NatWest Group, will now shut at least 172 of their bank branches in 2023 and 2024. The most notable inclusion is the Deathmaw boss itself which can be incorporated into the base game or any of Deathmaw Valley‘s six scenarios. The Deathmaw is a giant centipede-like boss that’s constructed of a number of segmented body parts based on the number of players. The segments not only determine the size of the Deathmaw, but also its health.

Project: ELITE is a real time cooperative board game, of which a new edition has just been released by Artipia Games and CMON. Designed by Konstantinos Kokkinis, Marco Portugal and Sotirios Tsantilas, the game sees players going up against an alien invasion. With miniatures flooding the board, real time dice based gameplay and different missions to complete Project: ELITE plays with 1 – 6 players. However, is it fun to fight an onslaught of aliens? Let’s find out! The Searsting will deal one damage to all players within a range of two, each time it activates (once per round). Meanwhile, Naga adds slime to spaces that advance enemies an additional space when they land in the slime, increasing the likelihood of swarms getting pushed forward and closer to player defeat. The range of bosses means that players will have to adapt their strategy accordingly to deal with these heavies or risk costly losses. In Project: ELITE, players are members of the ELITE squad on a mission to stop the invading forces of an alien empire. Stopping the invasion requires players to speedily roll dice as they take part in real-time, two-minute combat rounds against waves of terrifying enemies. Once the ELITE members take their turn, the aliens react. The game continues in this fast-yet-tactical series of rounds until the scenario is won or the aliens take the Earth. These dice are very nice. They look great (especially the Action dice) and they feel great to roll, which is important since you have to roll them a lot.

Depending on what difficulty players selected, players will draw and resolve a number of Swarm Spawn cards, followed by Boss Spawn cards. In a Medium difficulty game, players resolve one Swarm Spawn card per player and two Boss Spawns cards . This system guarantees that the more ELITE operatives there are on the board the greater the opposing force will be without upsetting the difficulty balance. One interesting addition however is the Solo mode. This, in my opinion, does get a little more difficult, and have found myself at a loss at times when playing solo. In the Solo mode, you will have control of two characters but instead of having the usual 8 dice (4 per player), you have just 5 dice to share between the two characters. This makes things incredibly difficult when attempting to complete the objectives, especially when you have to assign up to 4 dice per objective. Overall, I find Project: ELITE to be a fairly easy game. So much so, that I’ve never bothered attempting to play on Easy mode. My wife and I learned to play on the medium difficulty and it came close a few times, but we managed to hold a 100% win rate playing with a range of two to four players. It wasn’t until we started playing on the hardest difficulty that we truly found the game to be challenging.

In Project: ELITE, you’ll play up to eight rounds trying to hold off the alien invasion and complete your mission’s objective. The five missions have different objectives, including setting up explosives, capturing aliens, and gathering intelligence. The game comes with two maps and you can play any of the missions on either one.For those wondering about the changes from one edition to the other, these are rather numerous: there is now a fifth type of scenario (Exploration) while Recovery has been substituted by Capture. Events are drawn every round (even though at the two first levels of difficulty they might have no effect), and their content has been drastically changed. The Heroes have different names and their abilities have been slightly tampered with. Health is counted differently, while characters start with one weapon only. Special Aliens have been eliminated (there are only Swarms and Bosses), etc. As I stated in the strong points the characters are diverse yet some are overall more useful than others. Voker, Kara, and Akosha work well in all player counts. Gilgamesh and Gherid aren't as useful in less busy maps, meaning that they will only see action on full tables. Not an enormous problem, yet it shows that the base game needed more available characters. NatWest, RBS and Ulster Bank to close at least 172 branches in 2023/24 – here's the full list, plus alternatives All infrastructures within the Solar System have been destroyed. The Mars colony has been wiped out of existence. The aliens from Proxima Centauri b have now reached Earth and, from their massive fleet hidden behind the moon, they rain down destruction with total impunity, performing mass abductions and destroying our research facilities at the first opportunity. They have been forced to abandon their home world, scorched by the sun, and they turned their eyes toward Earth, determined to seize it by any means. For the first time in History, humanity stands united against a common enemy. Only one hope for free Earth remains - Project: ELITE!
