About this deal

Ultra quiet mowing at 58dB(A) means that you won’t disturb you or your neighbours when your robotic is mowing, allowing you to keep to a regular mowing schedule for a healthy greener lawn. The Easilife has an 18V lithium battery with a 2,000mAh battery capacity, this should allow for up to 65 minutes of mowing on a single charge. You have the choice of controlling the EasiLife 200 through the compatible smartphone app or there is a LCD display and keypad on the machine itself so you can program directly from there, if you prefer. However, if you don’t like the idea of anything too techy, you might go for the EasiLife GO which doesn’t have such complex on board controls. Still, you won’t miss out on any of the other features, as everything else is largely the same.

PassageSense: This allows the Easilife 200 to navigate through narrow passages. It’s helpful if you have two large areas of grass that are connected via a grass passage, but you will still need boundary wire around the whole lawn, including the passage. You’ll also need to lay the passage wire which is similar to a perimeter wire. Having looked at the massive range of features on all 3 Flymo robotic mower categories, it’s easy to see that they’re all what one would consider ‘good.’ However, it really depends on what you need from your robotic lawn mower as to which one is right for you. Find a level surface at the edge of the lawn to place the charging station. It should be close to a power supply, protected from water spray i.e. garden sprinkler and protected from direct sunlight Flymo have include a feature they call Spot Cut, where the user can lift the mower to an area that needs more attention and then choose this mode. Spot cutting directs the mower to move in a spiral pattern out from the overgrown spot before it reverts to normal mode. Override The base is suitable against splashes from all angles which should protect it from rain, whilst the mower is a step up and can sustain a water jet. This is ideal for cleaning as I’ll discuss later.

Flymo EasiLife 500

The EasiLife 500 has standard safety features to prevent accidents and to protect the machine from theft. Lift & Tilt Sensors These sensors help to make the mower safer when left unattended. If the mower hits an obstacle that lifts one or all the wheels from the lawn, the sensor signals the motors to stop. The motors will also stop if the mower goes beyond its 35% (19.3°) incline limit. PIN & Alarm System The Flymo GO range is perfect for people who aren’t quite as tech savvy, as mentioned there’s no LCD screen, no complicated controls and no hassle, it’s simply a case of push and go. That said, there’s still the option to use the EasiLife app for easy control right from your smartphone. The EasiLife is an excellent option is for those that are more tech savvy, as configuration of the robotic mower is done using the EasiLife app. There is a wide selection of Flymo EasiLife robotic mowers to suit every conceivable lawn size. They vary from the Flymo EasiLife 200, 350, 500 and 800 – the main difference relates to the size of lawn the machine is programmed to mow each day, therefore if you have a smaller lawn I would recommend the EasiLife 200 since it is designed for lawns up to 200 square metres. Likewise for larger lawns you should consider the larger 350, 500 or 800 models depending on the size of your lawn.

There are many benefits to mulching, please see my article on the benefits of mulching on the link below. The weather may have changed for the better after a week of heavy rain — and now the grass is getting out of control. The Override option tells the mower to ignore scheduled commands and to start mowing the lawn. Second Area Schedule when you want with the Bluetooth app, giving you full access to the robotic mowers extended settings, allowing you the set schedules and trouble shoot from the comfort of your home. FrostSense: This uses a built-in temperature sensor to detect when the lawn might be frosted over. The mower will adjust its cutting schedule accordingly. The bestselling Flymo EasiLife GO model is the 250, this robotic mower is perfect; as the name may suggest, for lawns up to 250m². It is user friendly, with minimal configuration and set up as it doesn’t have a screen, nor complex controls. It is simply plug in and go, same as the other models in the GO range. The EasiLife GO range is designed for those who do not want to faff around with complicated configurations either via the on-screen display or the EasiLife app. The EasiLife GO is designed as simple as possible to set up and configure. Simply install your perimeter wire and charging station and hit the “GO” button. The robotic mower will then do all the hard work for you.

The 1200R comes in a single size covering lawns up to 400 metres squared. As I mentioned earlier, you must choose something that is compatible with the size of your lawn. Designed and manufactured by the lawncare experts at Flymo, ensuring you can relax and never mow your lawn again. These instructions help users to reach the basic level of mowing. There are more in-depth settings in the user manual. As you can see, one of the major reasons I would suggest investing in Flymo is this simple and easy use. But there are many other reasons that I think this is a worthy brand.

Here is a breakdown of the key specs across the Flymo range. Also included here is the specs for the 1200R, the previous generation of Flymo’s robot mower range: EasiLife uses a boundary wire to indicate the areas to cut. The boundary wire should be installed around the edge of your lawn, and around any large objects like trees or hedges. OK, so that is the difference between the Flymo EasiLife range, how about the difference between the EasiLife and the EasiLife GO? Since launching the 1200R robotic lawn mower in 2013, when robotic lawn mowers were almost unknown in the UK, Flymo has helped grow the market segment by making robotic lawn mowers more available and affordable, with a majority share in the UK market.

Flymo still maintains its position as number one in robotic lawn mower sales in the UK and 2022 saw the ongoing launch of the EasiLife GO robotic lawn mower.Spot Cutting: the spiral mowing function is ideal for hard-to-reach places, such as under a trampoline or garden furniture. This saves you tedious reworking. What the 1200R does have is some incredibly reliable sensors so you won’t need to worry about it bumping into anything it shouldn’t. It is worth noting that this is a feature seen on the EasiLife and the Easilife GO models too. Features And Benefits Flymo 1200R
