About this deal

To be honest mine has been no problem at all; it wouldn’t be fair to compare it with a turquoise drill costing twice as much obviously. This 18V LXT Combi Drill from Makita replaces the DHP456 and is a compact and precise power tool for the professional or DIY enthusiast.

These larger capacity batteries are roughly twice the physical size and are also offer twice the runtime than compact 1. I would even go as far as to say that the white versions are repackaged teal blue models as the XFD01CW drill (white version) is identical to the XFD01 (teal version) and the XDT04CW (white version) is identical to the XDT04 (teal version) in all aspects (features, specs, appearance, build quality) except for the color and included batteries. You will find this an extremely comfortable drill to use with its ergonomic soft grip handle and lightweight design. So, the size of the battery can be equated to the size of the gas tank, as in how long it will last.

So I guess they are the lower end of the Makita line, but there's also identical teal ones at the lower end too. Although small, it is packed with features like 21 different torque settings, hammer action and bright twin LED joblights for working in dark conditions. I got my cheap makita stinking hot more than a few times, it has out lived the 2 2ah 18v LXT batteries it came with but the gearbox failed so only have speed 2 which is fine for the easyfill and drywall adhesive mixing duties it's not relegated to. Homeowner/DIY power tools can be found from brands such as Black and Decker, Ryobi, Hart, Worx, Craftsman, Warrior, Drillmaster, Chicago Electric, Bauer, Porter Cable and others like them. I fully understand that in other countries, especially in Japan, power tool manufacturers make their tools in all sorts of colors.there is no difference in performance with the 2 and 4 however with the core battery there is a increase in torque but not speed. Makita has a small lineup of 12V Lithium-ion cordless power tools and these are what I would imagine are considered to bethe closest thing to a home owner or diy product.
