According to Star and Marco's Guide to Mastering Every Dimension, Toffee is a lizard-like creature called a Septarian. Rasticore belongs to the same species. In " Deep Dive", Marco uses the wand to cast the All-Seeing Eye spell, causing crescent moon-shaped emblems to appear on his cheeks. When introduced in " Moon the Undaunted", Eclipsa is portrayed as calm, approachable, and sympathetic to young Moon's loss of her mother, despite her reputation as a queen of evil. Her demeanor toward Moon, however, provides little indication towards her true nature and motives, and she was initially hesitant to teach Moon her darkest spell. In " Stranger Danger", she bears no ill will toward her jailers, despite her long time in crystal captivity, and she displays a carefree, fun-loving attitude similar to Star's own. As of " Sweet Dreams", she maintains her calm demeanor and is more than willing to help Star, from warning her about the dangers of the castle laundry room to rescuing her from being trapped in a different dimension. She also has a playful side to her, casually telling Star to "call [her] a villainess" for her perceived crimes, then later responding to Marco's hostility with light-hearted teasing when the two of them first meet.

The fourth season follows Star and Marco as they continue their adventures in Mewni and explore new dimensions. However, as things change in the royal palace, Star soon learns that running the kingdom is far more complicated than she thought.

Reverses a dimension's gravitational pull and causes all of its inhabitants to float away into space.In " The Hard Way", Ludo becomes tainted by the dark magic of Queen Eclipsa's chapter in the Magic Instruction Book, allowing Toffee (whose consciousness had been residing within the crystal in Ludo's wand) to take possession of his body. Toffee is shown to be much more intelligent and calculating than any member of Ludo's army and even Ludo himself. He is proficient at plotting schemes and knows how to set them in motion effectively, as demonstrated in " Storm the Castle". He often appears quite calm and collected, a facade that rarely slips.

This was the final program to air on Disney Channel Asia prior to the channel's official closure on October 1, 2021, altough it wasn't the final program to air on Disney Channel in Taiwan since this sub feed outlived the general Asian feed. Initially, the only active spells the wand has been shown performing are green kinetic energy blasts empowered by Ludo's anger. They are capable of leaving permanent holes in force fields, as demonstrated in "Is Mystery". Swim Suit" reveals that Eclipsa doesn't know how to reverse her spells, having never needed to do so before, though she learns how to with help from Star. In " Lava Lake Beach", Tad makes Marco finally realize that his feelings for Star are romantic. Though he initially tries to deny it, after seeing Star and Tom kiss, he becomes depressed and has no choice but to accept they are true. In " Deep Dive", his concern for Star is so great that he risks wielding her wand, and he blushes when Star hugs him in the end.After Star recovered the last piece of magic in the universe that Toffee had not corrupted, she created a brand new wand from it. The wand's current appearance remains purple with white wings, but with softer-edges and resembling butterfly wings with Persian blue hearts. The faceplate consists of a light-blue circle with a pentagonal pattern, a whole gold star, and five pink hearts. The yellow crown on the wand's tip is replaced by two red horns, there is a red heart between the bell and grip, and the charger at the wand's base appears as a pink crystal.
