About this deal

Also included is a spectacular and exclusive launch edition of Battletome: Slaves to Darkness, plus an exclusive set of warscroll cards, enhancement cards, and tokens to help you bring ruin to the Mortal Realms – all only available in this boxed set. Introduced in Wrath of the Everchosen, Knights of the Empty Throne are a very unique legion. They’re intended for Varanguard spam and outside of Sons of Behemat probably one of the lowest drop armies you could possibly have. That said it’s also not cheap (I mean as in like, dollars) and like many elite armies suffers hard on the objectives, multiplied several times over here. If you run these guys it’s a real struggle but they are actually one of the most effective versions of Slaves to Darkness if you can stomach the cost. What does it get you? Analysis: Impressive enhancements to combat abilities as you might expect. That said, S2D has access to several sources of reroll hits so the general’s benefit is more important here. Adding +1 to wound represents a significant damage upgrade across your entire army, making them a compelling choice if you’re planning to win the game in the combat phase, leveraging weight of dice to maximise this benefit. Depending on where you live, the time it may take for your exchanged product to reach you, may vary. Now wholly given to Chaos, they feel no such need to restrain themselves, and retaliate with Berserk Rage when injured, adding 1 to wound rolls for that combat phase.

When the mark of Chaos takes hold of you, it never lets go! We recently reviewed the Slaves to Darkness Army Set, which contained the bulk of a new army for Warhammer Age of Sigmar. Now, Games Workshop sent us along a slew of new models for the army, including the hulking, terrifying Daemon Prince. We've put them all together and scoured their stat lines, so follow along for our thoughts on everything we received. Slaves To Darkness - Daemon Prince Tremble before his wrath! For the 40k version, you want to use the skull armor plate on the chest; it also has a few tube bits you throw on after it’s glued down. Overall I was really happy with this Army Boxed set as a veteran Slaves to Darkness player. Everything in the box is new, plastic kits. While the Daemon Prince and Chosen aren’t new units I think they are both leaps and bounds ahead of their previous versions. And we also get the new Ogroid unit, too! I kind of want another set of Ogroids just so I can run a full squad and also have the Champ, Musician, and Standard Bearer in the unit as well. Looks like my Slaves to Darkness army is getting a major boost! His Command Ability not only allows models in a unit to fight when they die, but you get to use this ability if you have a command point on your opponents turn whenever they use a Command Ability provided you roll a 2 or more on a d6, handy for situations when they’re preparing for an alpha strike on a key unit Favoured by the Pantheon: You can add or subtract 2 from the result of any rolls made for this general on the Eye of the Gods table. We’ll discuss said table a little later on, but manipulating this table is very important to improve the chances we get a great result and negate the possibility of said hero getting turned into a Chaos Spawn. The problem is this command trait does nothing unless you manage to get a combat character in a fight and win, making this rather narrow. D-Ellarr: I think Slaanesh or Nurgle are more exciting choices for this unit, because it further pushes their damage output and I like my hammer units to be proper smashy. Ally considerations: Lord of Blights lets you make a unit harder to hit (-1 malus) from ranged (or melee if 20+ models) which is nice but CP hungry in a faction starved for it. Now the Harbinger of Decay on the other hand has a command ability so good you want to save CP for it – Mortal Nurgle units within 7” (not just wholly within!) gain a 5+ FNP save for the turn which is just bonkers when you consider how resilient S2D units generally are already.

Ellarr: This guy saw a serious buff in this book, and if it wasn’t for the model being tragic from a thematic standpoint I’d be snap purchasing at least one. As SRM said it fills a niche S2D otherwise doesn’t have and it’s versatility makes it an intriguing choice, especially in a Despoilers army where it has the potential to regain wounds over the course of the game. Slaughterbrute The Mindstealer Sphiranx can also be used in Warcry, if you’re so inclined. As can… Scions of the Flame (80 Points) There are so many rules to explore, and listing them out here wouldn't be as thrilling a read as exploring on your own, but suffice it to say the levels of customization and malleability available to players running a Slaves To Darkness army is truly incredible. I can't stop thinking about ways that this army could be tweaked, and it's hard to know which god to choose to devote a legion to, because they all do one thing really well. Can I Field Warcry Models In My Warhammer Slaves To Darkness Army? There are heaps of new tabletop gambits to discover inside – though the hellish headlines all herald Eye of the Gods boons and Ensorcelled Banners to let you lavish gifts on your most favoured units. All armies with the Slaves to Darkness allegiance must select one of four damned legions, this isn’t optional like with some battletomes and their sub-factions. The first decision you are expected to make when creating a Slaves to Darkness list is to decide on a legion, which grants you access to specific allegiance abilities, command abilities artefacts and command traits that contribute to that define the theme and gameplay of that legion. RavagersGiving him the Reaperblade and Daemonbound Steel does mean that the damage output is slightly better than that of the Daemonbound Flail when you also take into account the mortal wounds caused by Hellfire Sword: Weapon When you select this battalion to be part of your army, you can give each unit in this battalion one of the following keywords: FIRST CIRCLE, SECOND CIRCLE, THIRD CIRCLE, FOURTH CIRCLE, FIFTH CIRCLE, SIXTH CIRCLE, SEVENTH CIRCLE or EIGHTH CIRCLE. The Chosen sprues are pretty modular, and you get two identical sprues in the set. Built Slaves to Darkness Miniatures All in all I think this is a nice fluffy list which will be fun and meets our heavy metal theme from the Start Collecting! box. What will it cost? Set Analysis: Teleport effects are incredibly powerful in Age of Sigmar, especially for S2D who may have a hard time with board control due to being mostly an elite army with limited range capabilities to shoot skirmishing units off objectives. Combos insanely well with a Marauder unit for a near guaranteed turn 1 charge provided you get the spell off. Your first spellcaster in any list should be given his spell. Grade: A+
