About this deal

Their relationship was really unhealthy honestly. I'm glad they figured it out at the end, but yeah, didn't enjoy the book. Meghan Quinn is an USA Today Bestselling author, adoptive mother, wife, and lover of peanut butter. She brings her readers the perfect blend of humor, heat, and heart in each of the books that she writes.

This has been in my library since it was released, and I finally decided that it was time to read it. I needed something that would be funny, cute, and a light read. This, however, didn't give me that. I'm usually giggling and laughing out loud with Meghan's books. Royally in Trouble continues to follow Lilly and Keller as they navigate their personal and professional relationship and go through hardships to get to know one another and themselves. I received this book for free from the author in exchange for an honest review. This does not affect my opinion of the book or the content of my review. Royally Not Ready by Meghan Quinn The Looooong and the Short of It with a Giveaway: October 2023 Wrap-Up Post and What to Expect in November That's why I find myself in the throes of wedding planning, pre-wedding classes with my broody, over-protective fiancé, and counting down the days until we can finally say I do.

You might be a future queen, but when it comes to the bedroom, I’m your goddamn king. Got it?” Meghan Quinn, Royally Not Ready In this modern and spicy fairy tale of a romance by Meghan Quinn, Keller Fitzwilliam is entrusted by the King of Torskethorpe in finding the King’s American granddaughter and training her to be the next sovereign. I have been absolutely BEGGING people to read Royally Not Ready since last year. I feel like it’s never gotten the hype it deserves. And now Meghan Quinn goes and drops this absolute masterpiece? Take my money.

In future, I do request that you advise me of any potential plot points that may invoke similar feelings, so that I may preemptively book therapeutic appointments post-read. The tears, horniness and the way in which you hit a little too close to home could have been dealt with sooner if I’d had fair warning. Lilly is an amazingly strong FMC for this book. I love her sarcastic and snarky banter with Keller the main MMC of the book. They dynamic between these characters is amazing and it really felt like you knew who each of these characters were.Royally Not Ready feels like a mix of The Princess Diaries, My Fair Lady and Meghan Quinn’s signature humor and spice. This enemies to lovers romance was really fun and gratifying.

We see more of the side characters that we had met in book one and were introduced to some new ones. I enjoyed watching the new bonds unfold between them and Lilly. I especially enjoyed seeing more of Runa (Lilly's right-hand lady) she stepped up and did more than is asked of her when Lilly needed it most, and that was my favorite bond to witness.Keller is still the brooding, protective, silent type. Even though he still has all those characteristics, you definitely see more to him in this book. In fact, I think this book gave you so much more insight into what he is thinking and why he does things. There are moments I wanted to shake him—okay, a lot of moments—and moments when I just wanted to hug him and shield him from the world. I was a little worried that there wasn't going to be much to their story other than the physical relationship seen as book one ended perfectly so there was no drama (YET. not that I would've complained - Kellers mouth is 🥵) but wow wow wow I had no need to be worried at all. This book was full of ups and downs and it kept me gripped from chapter one. I have never cried so hard at a MQ book - and I sobbed HARD at Untying the Knot. This was true Keller and Lilly as we know and love them already but so much deeper and more vulnerable.

Forced to stay in a long abandoned castle while she trains, the two find out they have far more in common than they realize and things start heating up between the two. Will her new status make a possible relationship between them impossible? Megan Quinn’s books are always a delight to read and now I’m super interested in getting the illustrated edition! Yes. My. King. Royally in Trouble by Meghan Quinn was an angsty, heartfelt, and steamy romance that continued the story of Lilly and Keller. Meghan brings all her signature witty banter that we loved from Lilly and Keller in Royally Not Ready, but this time she weaves in all the tension and suspense. Their journey to finally reach their HEA is full of emotional twists and unexpected turns that will ultimately leave a worthwhile and satisfying smile on your face.Lilly is growing accustomed to being a royal and learning more about the history and what it will take to one day be queen. I adored her throughout this entire book. Her character is just so funny and realistic. She’s unapologetically herself. You get to see different sides to Lilly throughout this book, and while it may put you on a roller coaster of emotions, it is so worth it. The gang has returned and this time around, nobody is left untouched. Confusion, pain, disappointment, and frustration are spread throughout the entire group as exciting and new adventures are welcomed while unexpected events happen. I also loved seeing the deeper side of Keller and Lilly's relationship—more emotion and less spice. Was there a lot of spice? Yes, in the second half. iykyk. and yes. it is as HOT as always. I grew to love this couple. I loved how they both changed for one another in subtle and not so subtle ways. Lilly, most noticeably, changes into someone fit for a crown and to be the head of a country. I also love a good grovel and Keller was very very good at it.
