About this deal

Other important protagonists were left out as well: Armando Gallo, Paul Whitehead, who designed the band's first album covers, John Burns and David Hentschel, who influenced the band's early sound. The Daily Telegraph's reviewer Ceri Radford described the documentary as "excellent" and "an entertaining riff on their success over the years".

Quality documentary with some good interviews, sadly post Collins and CAS has been omitted so no interview with Ray Wilson which might have been nice even a couple of minutes.

The credits reveal some other apparently unused interviews – Sebastien Lamothe and Marc LaFlamme of The Musical Box are named among others. The members of Genesis reunite to discuss the band's success and legacy in this musical documentary.

Sum Of The Parts” explores the dynamics of the group that has enabled them to survive changes of line-up, see their musical direction steadily evolve and maintain both group and solo careers along with their enduring popularity as evidenced by their hugely successful 2007 reunion tour.

This is the release of the Genesis documentary televised on the 4th October 2014 on the TV channel BBC 2. It was the first time drummer and singer Phil Collins, former singer Peter Gabriel, keyboardist Tony Banks, bassist Mike Rutherford and guitarist Steve Hackett had reunited since the Six of the Best reunion concert (1982). There's still barely any Steve in the documentary's 80s while Tony Banks is featured with a lot of quite poor songs. In fact there's only a brief bit of You'll Be In My Heart and a few comments about Tony's classical projects and a few other songs from his solo career.

Featuring contributions from key members past and present: Tony Banks, Phil Collins, Peter Gabriel, Steve Hackett, Mike Rutherford and Anthony Phillips, as well as a wealth of archive performance footage of the band’s biggest tracks and fan favourites, this first authorised study of the band’s history commences with their formation at Charterhouse in 1967 and reunites the band for the first time in many years. BONUS FEATURE: Over 30 minutes of additional interviews with the band members that were not included in the broadcast version. However, hardly anyone had heard anything about her in connection with Genesis prior to Sum Of The Parts. The eighties and nineties were triumphant decades for Genesis with hugely successful hit albums and singles around the world such as “Genesis”, “Invisible Touch” and “We Can’t Dance”. Intensely driven, he overcame personal and professional challenges to secure his place amongst the greatest vocalists in history.Gabriel's costumes and the big break with Foxtrot, the sound of Selling England By The Pound (which is given way too little time here though), the creation of The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway – during these parts, the documentary really shows how good it could have been. Over the course of the documentary, it's increasingly clear that 4-5 of the interviewees and experts are featured strikingly often. Peter Gabriel s departure in 1975 and then Steve Hackett s in 1977 led to the release of the album And Then There Were Three.
