With some dishwashers you need to lower the door all the way down and look at the base of the dishwasher in the area normally obscured by the door. My worktop is a Duropal which according to the internet has a profile with a seal that stops moisture and steam. the water will have to condensate somewhere, stop it forming on that part of the frame and next thing it will be all over the glass. I don't have the details of the fitter any more and as he was my dad's contact and not local I doubt he'd come down anyway - I do however know a good local wood worker and plumber who could fit the strip for me. He's also used clear silicone on both sides of the DW, between the adjacent units so I imagine this was his way of stabilising it (I was wondering why that had been done).There really isn't any issue with PVC edged tops, unless some muppet of a fitter has cut it off and then tried re-edging it . I'd just like to add to Snezza's excellent reply, that the sink cutout should have been sealed when it was done.
