About this deal

The grandkids are into this series; and being engaged with any books that are well written, while still peppy and fast moving, is a middle grade winner.

In the book, he has to push himself through the competitions, all the way to the coveted title of the funniest kid in the world. This book is good read if you read the series and to be honest you couldn't live without seeing this book if you read the other two. Among his creations are some of the world's most popular series including Alex Cross, the Women's Murder Club, Michael Bennett and the Private novels. When celebrity comedian Leo Leggett takes Billy under his wing as his new sidekick, Billy suddenly becomes the most famous boy in the country. In this episode Jamie is off to Hollywood to take part in the national finals of the Planet’s Funniest Kid Comic Competition, having won various local and national heats along the way. If we all took our problems and threw them into a pile next to other people’s and saw what they had to deal with, we’d grab our own problems back as fast as we could. Middle schooler Jamie Grimm has big dreams of being the best stand-up comic in the world - and he won't let the fact tha. Which I was never allowed to have as a child, although we frequently had Apple Jacks, which are really no better.

Although I do like the characters, I fell like some characters weren't used as much as they should have, Like Jamie's best friends. After scoring big on national TV in the semifinals contest, everyone back home is jumping on the Jamie Grimm bandwagon, and all the attention might be going to his head.I would also recommend this book to anyone who wants a heartwarming story, it is a little young but that doesn't stop it from being good.

I think that the book shows quite well how no matter what is wrong with you, no matter what the odds you can succeed in your dreams. As the Planet's Funniest Kid Comic finals near, Jamie faces a whirlwind of attention at school and in the media and the fame starts to go to his head, but in Hollywood with Uncle Frankie, some of his fellow comedians quickly show him what competition and pressure are all about. My son (11) and I both really enjoyed all of the books and though the ending is predictable, the journey is still fun. Fun, unstuffy and wise’ Sunday Times Children’s Book of the Week ‘It will have your children in stitches!

At first, this is GREAT - all the kids at school think he's cool and he gets to appear on his favourite morning TV show. packed with brilliant jokes and one-liners to make kids roar with laughter a book to encourage empathy and kindness in young readers.I think that this book is a great book for kids who are entering a contest because it teaches them to stick with it and keeping trying your hardest. I also really liked that Jamie learned a lesson about his attitude and the way he treats people because sometimes fame got to him and he wasn't so nice to those who loved him. Full of one liners and great clean jokes, this third installment is timely, hilarious and will be enjoyed by boys as well as girls. I would recommend this book to anyone who liked Dairy of a Wimpy kid, this is a more mature version of those.
