About this deal

Side-by-side double buggies tend to be wider than the average pram so may not be suitable for public transport or small car boots. They often have roomy storage baskets though and can be folded easily, but if you have an older child who often wants to walk, the second seat will sit empty. Most are suitable from birth or you may be able to attach an infant carrycot or car seat. Tandem (inline) double buggy Combining style and sturdiness, the Mountain Buggy Terrain comes with both 12- and 16-inch air-filled wheels that can be interchanged depending on whether you’re running up muddy hills or jogging along smooth tarmac. Yes I would definitely recommend this Little Nipper Double pram. For me it folded really easily, without too much effort, I really liked the design, I liked that hood comes far forward keeping the sun from children’s eyes. The children looked really comfortable in this pram. The basket underneath was a good usable size. However, it would not fit in my car with the seats all up. Wow. Great value for money, excellent quality, perfect design and so easy to use for a first-time side-by-side pushchair user. Absolutely perfect for a 2 year old toddler and 6 month sleeping (mostly) baby. Unfortunately, baby vomited on the first waking sight of his sister adjacent to him however, the covers were easy to wipe and our journey continued without fuss. In addition, the reclining seat appears to be quite comfortable for baby. We tasked busy mum-of-two Liz with putting the double buggies through their paces. At Mumsnet, we believe like-for-like comparisons are the fairest and most consistent way to test products because each one is tested by the same person in the same scenarios for at least a week.

To ensure the products were safe, Gemma chatted to Philip LeShirley, Product Safety Advisor at The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA), who advised what to look for when purchasing a pram to ensure it’s safe to use. I'm a childminder and I can't recommend this enough! All of the childminders I work with use these. They are easy to fold down and can be used from birth with or without a carrycot. They have big hoods for sun protection and big seats for bigger toddlers. (My six-year-old has a go sometimes). Easy to push and comfy with a decent-sized shopping basket."At the surprisingly slimline width of 72cm, the Nipper Double fits though all standard doorways and with a weight of just 12.8kg, it’s one of the lightest double buggies around. Out ‘n’ About Nipper Double V4 Newborn Bundle – Steel Grey Features It is a heavy buggy to use. Although, it's lighter than the original version, now weighing in at 12.1kg. The one-hand recline is handy for dealing with snoozing babies mid-run and the supportive padded seat offers a smooth ride. It’s almost ready to go straight from the box as the seat comes attached to the frame but you’ll need to use a bike pump to inflate the wheels before popping them on the chassis. It’s pricey but it’s well engineered, extremely sturdy and very easy for runners and walkers to manoeuvre. A double version of the Thule Urban Glide 2, this specialist side-by-side buggy is designed with active parents in mind. Ideal for twins or children of different ages who like to interact with one another, although most designs also allow you to recline the seats independently.

I have a Thule Chariot which is a bike trailer but also has a jogging wheel option too. I have jogged in rutted paths (woodland) and cycled loads, plus (it has smaller stroller wheels too) it bumps up and down curbs so easily. I'd recommend this one if you have lots of room for storage (I keep mine in our garage) and you are ever likely to cycle as well as run” - recommended by Mumsnet user, DontBuyANewMumCashmere Our verdictVery impressed with it considering the price. It's used daily on rough, hilly moorland and no issues yet" - Mumsnet user, IamnotwhouthinkIam Our verdict Adjustable handlebars: It’s well worth looking for a pram that comes with an adjustable handlebar, especially if different family members will be running with it. You’ll want to experiment with different handlebar heights to find a comfortable running position. It is a brilliant pushchair and even when dd1 was 6-7 and having a moment, she could sit in it and be pushed around. Massive seat" - recommended by Mumsnet user, user1471530109 Our verdict While I often have to suffer a struggle putting a 2 year old toddler into a pushchair when she is adamant that she can walk 500 miles - the offer of a mutual companionship on a equal seating arrangement with a sibling has relieved some of this pressure and she will often climb into her seat without asking.

Here are the main features to look for:

How to run with a running buggy

From the size of the wheels to the pram’s set-up to how far the seats recline and the storage basket, there are a lot of features to consider. I think this Little Nipper Double makes my life easier as it fits through most doorways and that is not common for side by side prams. This allows both children to forward face without one needing to be behind the other. It's so easy to fold too, and will fit in almost any boot without the need to remove wheels etc. At a fraction of the price of its competitors, the Chicco Echo Twin Stroller offers exceptional value for parents on a tight budget.
