About this deal

Not dissimilar to a Cognac, the digestif also comes in a distinct bottle, perfect for displaying on a bar at home. Hailing from the highly-awarded cognac producer, this limited-edition bottle is inspired by the iconic brand’s red-and-gold design, while the stuff inside sings with notes of vanilla, dried fruits and sandalwood. Better still, it’s presented in a beautiful porcelain bottle inspired by the Cyclades and designed by an Athenian street artist, which adds to its charm. Interestingly, the bottle is very different from other Vecchia Romagna bottles we have seen - it's tall and thin, in contract to the more rounded bottles we usually see. Yet, at its core, the brand remains steadfast in its commitment to quality, tradition, and the timeless art of Italian distillation.

Certainly, there’s a sense of pomp and ceremony synonymous with brandy, the sweet spirit produced by distilling wine or fermenting fruit juice (although these types must be marked as such on the label).Vecchia Romagna is more than just a name in the world of Italian spirits; it is a testament to Italy's deep-rooted love for brandy and its tradition of distillation. The most common kinds to choose from include Cognac and Armagnac – both made from grapes in their namesake regions of France – brandy de Jeréz, sourced from the Sherry region of Spain, and Calvados, an apple brandy distilled in Normandy. A collectible bottling of Vecchia Romagna 15 Year Old Italian brandy, which we believe was produced in 1991. By adopting this method, Vecchia Romagna ensures that its brandy retains the full-bodied essence of the grapes, resulting in a drink that is both smooth and flavorful. Although young it possesses a harmonious bouquet and a smooth and full flavoured character that is not to be dismissed.

With a history spanning over two centuries, Vecchia Romagna stands as an emblem of Italian excellence in the brandy industry. A great-value mid-ranger, Vecchia Romagna Riserva Tre Botti 1820 has been aged in three different barrels to deliver richness and intensity on the palate, featuring refined notes of oak and toasted walnuts, plus hints of tropical fruits. Under the Liquor Control Reform Act 1998 it is against the law to supply alcohol to a person under the age of 18 years.French founders Pierre-Emmanuel and Xavier have teamed up with London bar Coupette to bring you a Normandy brandy made from apple cider. It’s smooth and balanced on the palate, made from blending over 300 eaux-de-vie ranging from 10- to 37-year-old, creating a soft and velvety finish. Others, like eaux-de vie (light, unaged, fruity) and applejack (the clue’s in the name) also make for lipsmacking serves. It was here, amid the verdant vineyards, that Vecchia Romagna began its journey, distilling brandy that would soon become the pride of the nation. Made from a blend of Pinot Noir and Merlot grapes, this Austrian brandy is amber in colour and rich in taste, aged for 13 years in oak barrels.

Best enjoyed swirled and sipped from a snifter glass – featuring an oversized bowl that allows the aromas and flavours to build for optimised taste – it’s usually enjoyed at room temperature or over ice as a digestif after dinner is done to round-off the evening. Made primarily from Trebbiano grapes, the brandy possesses a distinct flavour profile that is both rich and aromatic, echoing the fertile grounds from which its ingredients hail. This is a rare 1970s bottling of Vecchia Romagna's Etichetta Bianca brandy, complete with the distinctive smiling fellow with hair made of grapes on the label. It comes presented in a rather stylish bottle alongside its original box - a neat little rarity for collectors.A 75cl bottle of 10 year old Trebbiano brandy from Italian producer Vecchia Romagna dating from the 1990s.

A blend of brandy, aged for at least five years, and Armagnac, aged for 10 years, The Best Napoleon Brandy is deep, complex and very rich. PALATE: A bold taste with a delicate pungency, well-balanced emotions and a stewed plum aftertaste that blends into a dry and citrusy orange zest finish. NOSE: The aroma is sweet with fragrances ranging from vanilla to crisp scents with a liquorice base note. You can’t talk about brandies without mentioning Rémy Martin, the esteemed French producer famed for prestigious cognacs.Vecchia Romagna Classica is produced through selection of the best grapes, the continuous distillation process and aging in fine oak barrels. As the only brand distilled in Jeréz, Spain, Lepanto is made from Palomino grapes and aged for 12 years in oak casks previously used for ageing Fino wine. He adds: “Given that brandy is almost always made from wine grapes, many expressions offer rich, fruity flavours, enhanced and given extra complexity by ageing in oak barrels – in the finest examples, often for decades. The brandy's ageing process, another crucial aspect of its production, takes place in oak barrels, allowing the spirit to mature and develop a deeper character. When it comes to varieties of the drink, think seasonally, from long-aged and full to warm the cockles in the winter, and lively and floral for vibrancy in the summer months.
