About this deal

Mashable is a registered trademark of Ziff Davis and may not be used by third parties without express written permission. Get the most out of your content with dynamic, high quality surround sound with Dolby Audio. Whether you are watching films, TV programs, online videos or concerts, Dolby Audio guarantees you audio quality that meets your expectations. Having messed with TCL's 43-inch 4-Series model both in the office and at home, I can say it's a quality option for those who want all the modern bells and whistles of a new TV without going broke. Whether you're into streaming, gaming, or both, the 4-Series does its job. The latest standard for 4K UHD content is High Dynamic Range. It expands the range of both contrast and colors significantly. HDR reproduces accurately light and dark shades with precise colors and dazzling detail images. On the operating system side of things, TCL TVs use the Google TV interface in 2023 (unlike some previous years where Android OS was the main OS system for TCL models in the UK).

TCL tells us that the main difference is in the design, with the P715K being "more premium" in that regard. However, the P615K doesn't have the hands-free voice control support offered in the P715K either. Speakers by Category: Bluetooth Speaker Specifications | Wired Speakers | Home Theatre Speaker Specifications Whether or not you prefer what TCL offers over something a little more fleshed out is going to be a matter of personal taste. Vizio's latest TVs have significantly more going on in the menu department, but they're more expensive and the one I tested ran like molasses. TCL's 4-Series might look a little more stripped down by comparison, but there's still plenty to chew on and navigating it is a whole lot smoother. As usual, Android TV is a combination of the outstanding and the mildly infuriating. On the plus side, it works in tandem with Google Home to serve up access to pretty much every streaming and catch-up service worthy of the description. The layout is reassuringly familiar from any number of more expensive TVs, too. But, as usual, the interface occupies the entirety of the screen in an unashamedly imposing manner; really, it’s a bit like being shouted at. We can put up with this, though, given how straightforward navigating the interface is. Netflix, Prime Video, Hulu, HBO, and pretty much every other mainstream service are represented here. It's all fine and dandy, but very straightforward. Everything is presented in a fairly elegant manner, though the interface loses points for prominent advertising on the home screen.

Max Payne 1 & 2 Remake in the “production readiness stage” while fans will have to wait longer for Control 2 The latest Windows 11 update won't install for some users, and tanks gaming performance even if it does It’s slightly strange to realise that the same screen that was so flummoxed by 720 x 480 DVD content can be so calm and composed when given all the information necessary to fill its native resolution.

One thing all TV brands have in common, however, is the often-incomprehensible model designations they slap on their sets without any thought for the poor public left trying to decipher them. ALB, BUL, CRO, CZE, DAN, DEU, DUT, ENG, ESP, EST, FIN, FRE, GRE, HUN, ITA, LAT, LIT, MAC, NOR, POL, POR, RUM, RUS, SER, SLK, SLV, SWE, TUR, UKR Port-wise, the 4-Series gives you roughly what you're paying for. It has one USB 2.0 port, an ethernet port for streaming purposes, three HDMI ports, and so on. What it doesn't have are RCA or VGA ports, but again, large swaths of people might not notice. The TCL TVs listed above all use either the Google TV or Android TV operating systems, but TCL also has options that run Roku TV OS, which is one of the best operating systems around when it comes to choice streaming service support and app provision.

There are of course a few key differences between the 2022 and 2023 models. The C835K can’t hit the same levels of brightness as its successor, with peak brightness of 1,500 nits compared to 2,000 nits. It also uses an older processor – AiPQ 2.0 – meaning HDR tone-mapping and general processing aren’t quite as impressive. There’s no 98in option either, and the speaker system is powered differently, with two 15W drivers and a single 30W driver in place of the pair of 25W drivers and single 20W driver on the C835K. The RS530K is available in either 32in or 40in and looks relatively similar in terms of specifications. It also has a 60Hz panel but the resolution is FHD (1,920 x 1,080) rather than UHD (3,840 x 2,160). Similarly, while there is support for the HDR10 and HLG formats, you don’t get the more advanced HDR10+ and Dolby Vision format support found with the RC630K.
