About this deal

Fire Dragon Bright: F58651 ● - Evil Sunz Scarlet: C21920 ● - Wild Rider Red: EB2E28 ● - Wazdakka Red: 8C0A0C The armor plates get edge highligting with Sotek Green, completing the classic Drukhari look, albeit with a more blue tint.

For these and the Thousand Sons I matched the paint schemes in the How to Paint Citadel Miniatures book. Famed for the 4 step paint process, these were fun. Jain Zar by Gav Thorpe also features the Drukhari in significant fashion and gives them some real show-stealing scenes.I want the wings to be much more muted and less saturated, so I start by washing them a few times with Nuln Oil, doing more layers toward the base of the wings, and going lighter toward the edges, to give the wings a bit of a fade as they go out. Wash Vallejo Charred Brown, leaving the base of the horn untouched, and smooth the wash line with water. Let dry thoroughly. Dark Reaper: 3C5051 ● - Thunderhawk Blue: 417175 ● - Skavenblight Dinge: 48413B ● - Stormvermin Fur: 736C66

Well well, once again you come to me to ask for advice on how to paint Drukhari? Oh don’t worry, prospective and current Archon’s of the Dark City, I will guide you. I hope you have your most hammy evil monologues at the ready and a glass of wine to swirl menacingly, you’ll need it. Once the red was done I gave every model several thin coats of AK Interactive Gloss Varnish. This makes the red look much nicer and also makes the next step a lot easier! The Decurion Lanius is a cruel tank commander unique to the Sons of Horus. Emerging in the latter days of the Heresy, these hatch-mounted enforcers maintain the Warmaster’s grip by callously executing any allies who fall out of line. Designed to work with the plastic Deimos Pattern Predator, the Sicaran Battle Tank, the Sicaran Punisher, or the Kratos Heavy Assault Tank, this resin miniature also comes with a choice of heads. This hefty set includes a bounty of Warhammer miniatures to get your first battles going. The Space Marines deploy an elite force of five Terminators, five Infernus Marines, a Librarian in Terminator Armour, and a Captain in Terminator Armour, while the Tyranids descend on them with 20 Termagants, two Ripper Swarms, three Von Ryan’s Leapers, five Barbgaunts, a Psychophage, and a wily Winged Tyranid Prime. That brought the paint job to completion, and I’m thrilled with how the finished product turned out.

Paint Comparison Chart

In this picture, the armor has been painted with the enamel washes but the shield has not. You can see how much more green the armor is and how much more of a vibrant and natural tone the enamels brought to the scheme. It’s a great tool to have in the tool box. Blast right into the grim darkness of the far future with the Ultimate Starter Set for Warhammer 40,000 – perfect for budding commanders who want a taste of everything battles in the 41st Millennium have to offer. Once you have the glaze mixed, use a small brush to put just a little bit of the paint on the tip. Since the paint is so wet with thinner, if there’s too much paint on the brush it will run and we wont have the kind of control we want. Use your nail, the base of the model, or the pallet to test it a bit to make sure you have good control over the paint coming off the brush. All of these datasheets and rules may seem a little overwhelming if you’re fresh to Warhammer, or even a returning player. For those who want a simpler introduction to the game, look no further than these three new boxed sets, designed to be the ideal first step into a hobby full of stunning miniatures and epic tabletop battles.

More washes. I want to retain a pale look, so I washed the flesh bits with a 50/50 mix of Agrax Earthshade and Druchii Violet, then I did a couple thin coats of Druchii Violet around the eyes and a ring of Nuln Oil to give the eyes a smoky, shadowy look on her face. Naggaroth is a cursed land affected by ancient magic. A presence of terrible power can hang on the air, casting a pall of fear across the land and sapping would-be-combatants of their will to fight. Even those normally unphased by fear are not immune to the terror that Naggaroth sometimes invokes. [2a] Petrified Forest [ ] Pink Horror: 91305D ● - Emperor’s Children: B94278 ● - Ironbreaker: 94999D ● - Runefang Steel: C6CBD0 I do my Night Lords’ guns red and so that means they’re painted Mephiston Red with a wash of Carroburg Crimson and edge highlighted with Evil Sunz Scarlet. The purple tuft is Naggaroth Night shaded with Druchii Violet and Nuln Oil then highlighted with Naggaroth and mixes of white to get lighter shades. The steel bits are Leadbelcher washed with Nuln Oil and the bone bits are Rakarth Flesh washed with Agrax Earthshade, though for something more era-appropriate you can use Seraphim Sepia instead.http://www.acrylicosvallejo.com/en_US/media/e588d28183cec31ffd6dcee6d3718fc3.cms/equivalencias-rev05.pdf Next come highlights of Sotek Green. That’s the primary color I’m going with here but I need to blend it a bit. I start by basically coloring in the areas that are gonna be Sotek.

Much like the smaller sets, this box also contains a handbook, as well as a full Core Rules Booklet. This has all the core rules for the new edition and the rules for the fast and fun Combat Patrol mode , including six missions. You’ll also get dice, tokens, a range ruler, and a Space Marine transfer sheet. Librarian in Terminator Armour Mix some of what was left of the Skeleton Horde pool with some Deepkin Flesh and use that to highlight the banners. Overall I’m very happy with the final result. The blue looks good and I think it stands out from the regular full gold armor crew you normally see. Sure it’s a bit tougher but painting this wasn’t too bad – maybe a couple of hours at most – and it looks pretty solid. James “One_Wing” Grover The wings can get some final edge highlights but that isn’t super necessary, especially if you have more than one model of these to paint. Emma: I’ll start off by batch painting Termagants because there are a lot of these in the box, and once you know how to paint these little biomass-devouring creatures, you’ll know how to paint the rest of your Tyranids, as they all feature the same constituent parts.Sybarite Green where it makes sense on the cloth – this is a bit of an art, but you want to put some lines to give it some definition. You can push these further with Skarsnik Green if you want The joins between the sections of the cloak are the hardest to line up, and I’d want to pre-prepare them with a thin line of plastic glue. Forget the maroon scheme of modern Word Bearers or the “Gal Vorbak Red” shade you can get from Forge World – the Word Bearers of 2nd edition were a much brighter shade of red. It’s also helpful to start by undercoating your miniatures in a colour that will save you the most effort. We used the Citadel Spray primer version of Macragge Blue for the Ultramarines, Grey Seer for the Apothecary Biologis, and Wraithbone for the Tyranids. We also used pots of matching Base paint colours to tidy up mistakes later on – because we all make mistakes.
