About this deal

Fix depends on whether its the heatshield that's corroded away around the fixing, or the fixing that's corroded away or fallen off. If it's the former, just make a plate out of anything you like with a small hole in the middle and sandwich the heatshield under/above that. Apply tiger seal to car body and exhaust shield, and push a ‘washer’ over the stud with a small amount of tiger seal. I'm thinking about just replacing the bands with the adjustable bands you see on rubber couplings at Home Depot for joining ABS plastic pipe or cast iron pipe like the 3 or 4" bands. Use a bit of ally sheet instead of a repair washer, the galvanic corrosion will take many car lifetimes to eat through 1mm of aluminium compared to the wafer thin heatshield. Not to solid. It felt like kit kat wrappers as well.

Edit:- no need to start drilling extra holes in the body to use a pop rivet, just use what is there. BRISKODA is owned and operated by Summit 360 Ltd, registered in England & Wales, company number 05710517. Recently I had the opportunity to easily get underneath my Note and noticed that some of the exhaust heat shield clips are missing from the rear section, presumably corroded and fallen off. The remaining ones seem to be OK. Someone said to me that the rear end of the heat shield isn't really necessary and can safely be removed. Is that the case? The heat shield has two little tabs that retain the washer/clip. Bend them down slightly to remove old and fit new.

As for fitment, I guess they just push over the screw stud that is peeping out the heat shield, and has lots of rust on its surface?

Make a couple of big square washers from a bean tin, folded a couple of times and a small hole made with a nail. This then grips the stud.sorry to be bringing up an old thread, but I think my heat shield is rattling. I thought at first it was my a/c compressor since the rattle comes & goes and I thought that the heat from the a/c compressor was causing the rattle. The stud has a screw thread. So after initially pushing the washers on, can rotate them through one of the slots to tighten slightly. If you just want a no-nonsense mountain bike at an attractive price point, the Canyon Neuron AL 6 is a very good answer. The info about the tabs is useful. There are 3 rusty 'bits' which I could not identify which I now know are the remains of the tabs. Rumours that Red Bull Hardline will become a series have been roaming the internet corridors a while, so it's perhaps no surprise to have the official news: Hardline will have...

Model: 05 Octy 2 Eleg Hatch, 1.9 TDI, Sahara Beige 260k, 2011 170 TDI DSG Superb Estate, vRS Fabia 2005/55 I looked up myself before posting a few listings and they too came up with VW transporter, Golf fitment. But, didn't fit a Fabia for whatever reason. When Nissan designed the car, if they thought that it didn't require any rear heat shields, they wouldn't have fitted any, it would have saved them millions of pounds Not to fit any. They don't think, "we'll fit heat shields for the fun of it, not to worry about the cost"Anyone replaced their heat shield clips recently? Sounded like exhaust was falling off, but after prodding around it was a clip that was corroded. Others didn't look too healthy, neither. I have searched and an old thread showed a part number wobbliscott- no reason it has to bolt into the chassis though, a tab out of the chassis/floor with a hole through it could accomodate a bolt and wouldn’t be any more invoved to fit than a stud (or in the case of ford, a manky selftapper thing).
