About this deal

I've just had to give up on a book of which I had high expectations so needed a replacement to settle me and Cathy Glass books are consistently good quality. Lucy and I have always believed we were destined to be mother and daughter. It just took us a while to find each other. I hope you enjoy Lucy’s story. I enjoyed writing it.

Tilly, aged 14, is very angry with her parents. Her step-father, Dave, abuses her mother, but she won’t leave him. Unable to cope with their fighting any longer and fearing for her own safety Tilly puts herself into foster care. She arrives at experienced foster carer, Cathy’s home with a cut on her face from getting in the way of another fight.

Andrew Lownie Literary Agency :: Book :: A Terrible Secret

Following the success of Damaged, you might imagine that a brand new author would have a bit of a cooling off period. This was not to be the case with Cathy Glass. Her next book, “Hidden” was published in 2008, and it was a success in its own right. This book had another memorable character at the center of it, only this child was a far cry different from the explosive Jodie character that Glass had written about in her first book. In the book Hidden, Tayo is the child that is described as being a polite, calm and mild-mannered child that was well spoken. But while he displayed excellent manners and was very well behaved, Tao was hiding a terrible past that no child should have had to live through. I loved your books just finished “A terrible Secret” just wondering what book comes after that one Please need to know what happens with Tilly Reply Not only is “Cathy Glass” a pseudonym, but so are the designated names of the children that she writes about. This is perfectly understandable, considering the delicate nature of the material that Glass covers. Readers who typically enjoy Cathy Glass books are individuals who are partial to genres that are inspirational memoirs or true life stories. Glass started writing in her spare time, when she wasn’t busy caring for her family, including her various foster children. As a person who loves to read anything true storyline and a great fan of you and your books, much love to you. Having read all of Cathy Glass’ books, I had high expectations of this book, and they were fulfilled! I recommend this book to anybody.

Damaged

Lucy was born to a single mother who had been abused and neglected for most of her own childhood. Right from the beginning Lucy's mother couldn't cope, but it wasn't until Lucy reached eight years old that she was finally taken into permanent foster care.
