About this deal

In the UK, there are two key variants of the LG CX, the CX6LA and CX5LB. The former is exclusive to Currys PC World; all other retailers will sell the latter. The differences are purely cosmetic, as the CX5LB has a silver stand while the CX6LA is finished in dark grey. Panel specifications and picture quality will be identical, no matter where you buy the CX. Please note: Failure to produce the card and relevant ID means we are unable to release goods on collection. This issue is quite clearly down to the mid-spec a7 Gen 3 processor, and shouldn’t ruin movie night on its own. We saw the same issue in last year’s LG B9 OLED model, and it didn’t temper our enjoyment much then, either.

There is a final picture preset we haven’t mentioned yet, which is the Game mode. This is when gamer-specific features such as VRR (variable refresh rate) and ALLM (auto low latency mode) come into play, helping to prevent screen tearing and keeping down input lag for responsive gameplay. It means the BX may be a sensible choice for the PS5 or Xbox Series S, and it’s worth noting that we didn’t see much of the video noise or motion issues mentioned above when playing in Game mode. The 120Hz panel and HDMI 2.1 support means you can get truly next-gen performance from these consoles, too. The LG OLED55BX6LB may be the cheapest OLED, but that doesn't necessarily mean it's worse. Read our full LG OLED55BX6LB review to see how it measures up. We start to see the differences between the panels here, although you have to look hard: both have the superior contrast advantages of OLED, and do an impressive job of covering the HDR and SDR colour gamuts. Information of the number of pixels in a unit of length. With the decrease of the display size and the increase of its resolution, the pixel density increases. Approximate diagonal size of the display. If the manufacturer does not provide such information, the diagonal is calculated from the width and height of the screen.LG already offers a wide array of preset modes to please most viewers. There are Vivid, Standard, Cinema, and Sports modes, for example. An HDR effect attempts to intensify highlights in pictures, but we found it tended to blow out details and overemphasize bright spots. For gamers and fast action TV lovers there is the added addition of a 1ms response time coupled with HDMI 2.1 tech with 40-120Hz capabilitywhich means you will never miss a thing and theOLED55BX6LBcan cope without any input lag and make the most of the next generation consoles! Overall HDR performance is good. Peak brightness was measured at just over 600 nits (cd/m2), using a 5% testing window. However, performance drops considerably when measured with a larger 10% patch. This tells us the BX is perfectly fine delivering small, dramatic, transient highlights (fireworks, visual effects), but could dim considerably when an image features a larger HDR expanse (potentially sports coverage, with partially lit stadiums). The A1 range will use the fourth-generation Alpha 7 processor and have a 60Hz panel rather than a 120Hz one. This will affect gaming and other content that can make use of such a high frame rate, but won't be as big an issue for people who only use their TV for films and shows.

Ergonomics Information about the ergonomic functions - height adjustment, swivel angles, tilt angles, etc. VESA mount There’s also an AI smart content option, able to make recommendations based on your viewing history and app usage. We’d suggest leaving all of these AI features on. Picture quality The maximum number of colors, which the display is able to reproduce, depends on the type of the panel in use and color enhancing technologies like FRC.

Other than the processor, on paper there's little to choose these three LG OLED ranges. Features all three have in common include: But while the low price is bound to appeal, to be a genuine bargain a TV has to combine a great price with great performance. So, how does the BX OLED compare with its rivals - and is it good enough to buy right now, given that LG's revealed even cheaper OLEDs may be just around the corner? We have now started delivering right to your door! Alternatively you can collect free of charge from one of our 7 branches (see steps below) Information about the number of pixels on the horizontal and vertical side of the screen. A higher resolution allows the display of a more detailed and of higher quality image.

The set has 40W of claimed amplification on board, in a simple 2.2 arrangement. It’s comparable to what we’ve heard on the CX models. You should buy it if… What better way to hear the Lions roar than with the official England Football earbuds. The FA4, Limited Edition model come with the England crest on the case and England proudly displayed in blue and red on the earphones. The CX runs LG’s WebOS and supports every HDR10, Dolby Vision and HLG – although not HDR10+. Sadly, while most of the major content streaming platforms are present and correct, most of the Freeview Play apps such as ITVHub, All4 and My5 have yet to appear. LG CX OLED review: Price and competition Its upcoming A1 range, new for 2021, will be even cheaper than its new B1 series (the likely name for the successor to the BX range). LG's Magic Remote - one of our favourites. The pointer makes it easy to select things on screen, but even without it we'd be a fan - the buttons are well-spaced and easily differentiated.
