The goal in Diamant is simple. Throughout five rounds, collect as much treasure as you can and hopefully have more than the other players by the end of the game. Sounds easy right? A few clever wrinkles in this game make getting out alive and laden with treasure, fraught with drama and indecisiveness.

The main mechanic behind Diamant is movement and territory control. Players use single pieces called stones, as well as multiple piece combinations called carriages, to navigate their way across the middle line of diamonds and reach the central diamond first. One key strategy for winning involves deliberately setting up obstacles that limit your opponent’s ability to move their pieces aroundthe board. These barriers can be formed from either a large number of stones, so that you possibly “trap” them with little room to maneuver, or by placing two carriages side-by-side with no corresponding stone in between them ” an obstacle known as a double wall. Multiple walls can be created if desired and these are often an effective way of isolating an enemy piece and ultimately eliminating it from play entirely. Decision Cards allow you to show other players if you want to go deeper into the cave or return to camp. Each player counts the Precious Stones they put in their Chest, as well as those on the Relic cards they gathered, and converts them into victory points:

An expedition ends when all players return to camp or when the same Trap appears twice in the cave. Zatu has an excellent range of games and for most of them the best prices too. Delivery is always fast and I have never received a game in bad condition. 10/10 would recommend. If you fall into a trap, you will flee towards the exit, leaving all of your treasures behind you, and return to camp empty-handed. and with shaking knees! You can also enhance Diamant by introducing new elements such as extra targets on the board that offer specific rewards when landed upon; power-ups (such as limited immunity from guard capture); additional pieces like knights and bishops; or even a larger playing field if desired! Having new elements gives players more choices and actions to select from throughout their game which results in entertainingly unpredictable outcomes.

The Relic card stays on the cave path and nothing happens. Go directly to the "Players' Decision" Phase. The card isn't worth any points until a player leaves the cave with the card in their possession. Chests are a safe place where you can store your Diamonds when you return to camp before falling into a trap in the Tacora Cave. All the Rubies and Diamonds in your Chest are safe until the end of the game. Venture deep into the Tacora Cave and gather as many diamonds as possible. Be clever enough either to return to camp before falling into a trap, or to gather all the diamonds that are left on the path. Before a new Expedition card is revealed, each player still in the cave must decide to continue the expedition and delve deeper into the cave, or to return to camp to put their Precious Stones safely in their Chest. Players must also bear in mind that each carriage has its own unique movement pattern. Some carriages are able to cross more than one diamond space at a time, while others have more strictly defined paths; learning how each piece moves will give you an advantage over your opponents since being able to predict your opponent’s next move becomes much easier when you know what options are available to them at any given time. Additionally, since capturing opponents’ pieces reduces the total number of pieces on their side of the board; thus having less mobility options left for them ” this means actively looking for chances to eliminate foe’s pieces should play an important role in tactical decisions too! Advanced Tips and TacticsLater in the same round, when a second Snake card is revealed, all explorers in the cave take off running, abandoning their treasures, and the expedition ends. You can also add depth by introducing bonus or penalty moves as well as other specialized rules, such as penalizing player moves that move pieces into already occupied spaces or awarding bonus moves if a player captures two pieces in one turn. The possibilities are nearly limitless, allowing for highly customized gaming sessions full of surprises! To do this, take your two Decision cards: Continue and Exit. Choose one and place it in front of yourself face-down. When everyone is ready, simultaneously reveal your cards. Take as many Precious Stones from the reserve as there are Rubies on the card. Share these Rubies equally with all players still in the cave. Put the remaining Rubies on the Treasure card.
