Essentially, the first and primary thing you should do when encountering issues with a headset or mic, is to carry out some basic troubleshooting– as this will help you narrow down where the issue being experienced is stemming from. Jack connection (such as a phone/tablet) as this will allow you to test whether the headset works on another device other than your console. To do this, Press the XBOX button on your controller to bring up the ‘HOME’ tab > scroll to the ‘People’ tab. And then finally to test whether all is good and whether your headset and mic is working correctly, proceed to the ‘Test Your Microphone’ or ‘Start Test’ option.As sometimes a damaged or otherwise dirty controller port may prevent the headset from working correctly.
