What’s particularly special about the P30 Pro, however, is its intriguing quadruple camera array. Setting up fingerprints on the scanner is a little time-consuming, with a number of scans required for each digit you register – we’d recommend both thumbs and forefingers for ease of use. Once set up though, the scanner works with great accuracy and speed. Sony’s WH1000XM2 headphones are excellent performers as well. Sure, not a great or memorable model name, but these still have some excellent sound reproduction that you can’t go wrong with. Sony really nails the perfect formula for mids, treble, and bass. Huawei has long pushed its EMUI - that's Emotion User Interface, if you're wondering - with the P30 adopting a slightly updated version, EMUI 9.1, which is built over Google's Android Pie 9 operating system. There really aren't any massive changes compared to the Mate 20 here, but given how improved EMUI 9 was compared to some previous iterations, we think Huawei is in a place where customers will find this offering and its customisations to be acceptable.

That's a solid outlay, meaning mostly flagship results here. We've had one or two glitches and app crashes in this phone - which we didn't get when moving into the Pro - but after some software updates things smoothed out to operate smoothly. Chinese brand Huawei has succeeded in beating out the big names when it comes to phone cameras. The quad-camera set-up of the Huawei P30 Pro is one of the best -- if not the best -- on the market. The only rival in this area is the Google Pixel 3, and the Huawei is better in many ways. Though cameras are definitely the main selling point, the P30 Pro is a great phone in its own right. it offers an contrast-rich OLED display, amazingly long battery life, an attractive waterproof design, and plenty of power under the hood. To do this, you have to go Messages. Make sure that Ringing volume is full. During the day, the P30 Pro shoots photos that look okay, but whether it was because of the new sensor or something else, there is a very noticeable yellow tint to photos and the colors overall don't look as lively and animated as you see on other phones. You get plenty of detail, but as evidenced in our blind camera test, the overall look from the photos during the day is not something that resonates well with most people, at least when compared to the very best smartphone cameras out there.
