The album’s title – Chemtrails Over the Country Club – could have been used on many of Del Rey’s previous records, pointing up as it does the contrast between the Americana of white picket fences and the nation’s uneasy dark side, a continued fascination of Lana Del Rey’s work. Del Rey is at pains to clear up something very important: “I’m not unhinged or unhappy,” she sings, “I’m still so strange and wild.
