You need to take care when handling and storing chemicals for your pool. Make sure they’re stored in a cool, dry place and out of the reach of children. While outdoor pools are designed to warm naturally in the summer sun, heaters are available to give them a helping hand. The type of heater you need will depend on the size of the pool, and most are designed to be used in conjunction with the pool’s pump. As an alternative to mains-powered heaters, solar mats are also available and are designed to gently warm the water as it passes through the filter. What extras should I look out for? Maintaining the pH balance in your water is also essential. If water is improperly balanced, you may face issues with: Pool pumps act as the heart of your pool, circulating the water around the system and ensuring it’s never stagnant. While your pool is set up, you should circulate the entire volume of water for 6-8 hours every day that it’s in use – this is usually plenty long enough for all the water to ‘turnover’, meaning it’s all cycled through the system. Your pump will work alongside a filter (for above ground pools, they tend to be one integrated system), which will capture dirt and debris in the water. How to Clean a Bestway Pool FilterAnother piece of kit that can be used to keep your Bestway pool pristine is a pool vacuum. While not entirely essential, pool vacuums can help keep your pool’s walls and floor free of grime, keeping it in fantastic condition for longer. If you do leave your pool up for the year, you may want to refresh your water again by the next summer season. However, for most people, you probably won’t have to change your water unless it becomes contaminated and cannot be fixed with chemical treatments. How to Empty a Bestway Pool Products such as washing detergent, moisturiser, deodorant, make-up, sun lotion or fake tan can cause discolouration. We would suggest showering before using the pool to avoid this. If the problem does occur you can use washing up liquid, stain remover or miracle pads to remove stains or marks. Ideal chlorine levels range from 1-3 ppm. If you’re using bromine as an alternative sanitiser, aim for 2-4 ppm. To clean the pool, we would recommend using diluted washing up liquid as this is a non-abrasive cleaner

Submerge each end of the hose completely so it fills with water. Take one end of the hose out of the pool and place it in the area where you want to drain the pool. Keep the other end in the water and make sure the liquid begins to syphon out of the pool. Many above ground pools are not intended as permanent fixtures; they are set up for the duration of the swimming season and taken down for winter. Provided your chemicals are properly managed, and the pump/filter does its job, the water you first fill your Bestway pool up with should last the season. Unlike most inflatable pools, the Easy Set only needs the top ring inflating. Whether or not you opt for a pool with a pump filter will depend on how large the pool is and how long you plan on keeping it filled. Smaller paddling pools that are only filled for occasional use will likely fare fine without a filter as you can simply empty, clean and refill the pool when necessary. However, bigger pools that require large quantities of water will almost certainly benefit from the addition of a pump filter. A quality pump will allow you to get up to a full season out of a single pool of water. The choice is ultimately yours, but for smaller and shallower pools for kids and families, we’d recommend an inflatable pool, whereas for larger fixtures for adults a frame pool is a smarter choice.
