About this deal

(ru)

The sun god, Ra, was often referred to as a mountain of gold • In ancient Egypt, gold was considered the skin or flesh of the gods, particularly the Egyptian sun god Ra. Consequently, gold was unavailable to anyone but the pharaohs, and only later to priests and other members of the royal court. The chambers that held the king’s sarcophagus was known as the “house of gold.” [1] In 560 B.C., the Lydians introduced the first gold coin, which was actually a naturally occurring amalgam of gold and silver called electrum. Herodotus criticizes the materialism of the Lydians, who also were the first to open permanent retail shops. When the Lydians were captured by the Persians in 546 B.C., the use of gold coins began to spread. [8]

World War 2 ended in 1945 where after only the facility in Berlin was allowed to continue to produce genuine Danziger Goldwasser. In 1511, King Ferdinand of Spain coined the immortal phrase: “Get gold, humanely if possible—but at all hazards, get gold.” (nl) Ans: Gold flakes are utilized in spirits in the main for his or her visible enchantment and the notion of luxury. They do not extensively affect the taste or first-rate of the drink but are regularly related to extravagance and special events. Gold, a noble metal, was named after Aurora, the goddess of the dawn • The chemical symbol for gold is Au, from the Latin word aurum meaning “shining dawn” and from Aurora, the Roman goddess of the dawn. In 50 B.C., Romans began issuing gold coins called the Aureus and the smaller solidus. [2]

He was so enamored with the drink that he established the official Russian consulate in Danzig and became a great lover and ambassador of Danziger Goldwasser. Though the ancient Jews apparently had enough gold to create and dance around a golden calf while Moses was talking to God on Mt. Sinai, scholars speculate that it never occurred to the Jews to bribe themselves out of captivity because gold was not yet associated with money. [2] This is a version of the original Goldwasser produced in 1598 by the German firm, “Danzig”. The recipe did not always include gold flakes. These were added when it became thought that gold was valuable in the treatment of certain diseases. Gold, is of course totally inert - it is quite harmless to use in food products and has since been found not to impart the benefits the alchemists attributed to it. Pure gold is still added for the appearance and to maintain tradition. Originally produced from aniseed and caraway, this version from Der Lachs is a fine example of the liqueur. The drink was invented by a Dutchman from De Lier, Ambrosius Vermeulen who became a citizen of Gdańsk on 6 July 1598. In 1704 Ambrosius' grandson Salomon Vermöllen and his brother-in-law Isaac Wed-Ling moved production to new premises located in the Breitgasse. At that time it was common for houses to use animal symbols instead of numbers, and the new factory featured a salmon ( German: Lachs) on the façade; hence the naming of the brand " Der Lachs zu Danzig". The Olympic gold medals awarded in 1912 were made entirely from gold. Currently, the gold medals just must be covered in six grams of gold. [2]The value of gold has been used as the standard for many currencies. After WWII, the United States created the Bretton Woods System, which set the value of the U.S. dollar to 1/35th of a troy ounce (888.671 mg) of gold. This system was abandoned in 1971 when there was no longer enough gold to cover all the paper money in circulation. [4] You can visit the refurbished original distillery in Gdansk. Although it is not operational any longer, the association with the original product is retained through the use of salmon in the exclusive restaurant “Pod Łososiem” (The Salmon).

The recipe indicated that you fill the glass up with champagne and then round it off by decorating the glass with slices of tangerine Harry Johnson: New and Improved Illustrated Bartender’s Manual or: How to Mix Drinks of the Present Style And Containing a Valuable List of Instructions and Hints By the Author in Reference to Attending Bar: Also a Large List of Mixed Drinks, Such as American, British, French, German, Italian, Russian, Spanish, Etc., Etc., With Illustrations, And a Complete List of Bar Utensils, Wines, Liquors, Ales, Mixtures, Etc., Etc. How to Drink Goldwasser The mystic pursuit of alchemy was at its height when Goldwasser premiered in the 16th century and must have had its influence on Dutch Mennonite inventor Ambrose Vermollen when he concocted the gold-dappled drink, as gold was believed to have many desirable (though vague) medical properties at that time. The two most famous pursuits of alchemists (though they had many) were the attempted transmutation of lead into gold, and the creation of a "panacea" - a medical elixir that would cure all diseases and prolong life indefinitely. The ineffectual results of both these pursuits earned many alchemists the reputation of being charlatans and hoodwinks, though we can certainly accept Goldwasser as one of the advantages of their cultural leverage. Even today it is very well known in Germany. Who doesn’t know the scene in the film “Little Lord Fauntleroy” when the little lord stands in front of the orchestra and makes them sing “Oh Dem Golden Slippers”, whereupon the high society starts dancing to it.

There are more than 400 references to gold in the Bible, including specific instructions from God to cover furniture in the tabernacle with “pure gold.” Gold is also mentioned as one of the gifts of the Magi. [2] It is possible to buy the original brand of Goldwasser in the old town of Gdansk. The original Goldwasser distillery building, though not operational, has been rebuilt as it was before the war, and is now home to the exclusive restaurant "Pod Łososiem" (The Salmon). This film has been shown by ARD since 1982, [3] and is thus part of the annual Christmas tradition. Everyone will probably have seen it before, so we can dispense with a summary. This year, by the way, it will be shown on 18 December at 8:15 pm.

In 1599, a Spanish governor in Ecuador taxed the Jivaro tribe so excessively that they executed him by pouring molten gold down his throat. This form of execution was also practiced by the Romans and the Spanish Inquisition. [1] Goldwasser ("Gold water from Gdańsk"), pol. Wódka Gdańska, with Goldwasser as the registered tradename, is a strong (40% ABV) root and herbal liqueur which was produced from 1598 to 2009 in Gdańsk. Production now takes place in Germany. [1]

It is possible to buy the original brand of Danziger Goldwasser in the old town of Gdansk, however it is not produced there but rather imported from Nörten-Hardenberg. The original Goldwasser distillery building, though not operational, has been rebuilt as it was before the war, and is now home to the exclusive restaurant "Pod Łososiem" (The Salmon). There is another brand of Goldwasser, Schwabacher Goldwasser that muddies the water slightly with the same name. Ans: Drinking gold offers no major health advantages. However, gold does not cause any physical or chemical changes when passed through the digestive system since it does not get absorbed into the body. Gold in drinks is just cosmetic, adding no nutritional value to the drink.
