La versione originale, quella di Hoffmann, l'ho letta per prima, anche se nell'edizione che ho appena letto è inserita per ultima, mettendo per prima quella di Dumas, cioè quella rimodellata a suo piacere, ma che rispetta fedelmente. Curiosamente parece que hay cierto desconocimiento o confusión sobre esta obra. Pensando que la original es la de Alexandre Dumas. Si bien de la Adaptación de Dumas se desprenden ..la obra de Ballet, la composición musical e infinidad de adaptaciones: graficas,animadas,etc .y por estos medios es altamente conocida la premisa. Pero en definitiva la original es la de Hoffmann.

I think that the important thing reading such stories, isn't that they have to be real, but realistic though weird things happen. I like it when an author has that special skill to make also weird happenings believable. Usually I don't read fantasy, but Hoffmann is one of those authors that make me enjoy also genres I never read because he makes fantasy become real. Por ser uma história infantil, esperei uma linguagem mais simples, com frases mais curtas e bobas, e, para minha surpresa, me deparei com um texto belíssimo, com rico vocabulário, frases bem elaboradas e lugares muito bem descritos. Lol, I know I can make a horror movie out of anything. This was an intriguing little read that was full of cute moments but a lot of emotional ones??? I wasn't quite prepared for all the emotional moments that popped out of this one, but I actually really liked them. I really liked Georgie's moments in the real contemporary world where she had to deal with friendship struggles and making a new friend. Plus, the struggle with her grandfather was so heartwarming and breaking at the same time. I thought Adrian did a wonderful job with capturing Georgie's voice.
